Is this plug OK?
Have no clue if they are original or not...can tell you that they were in (what I thought) was too tight, and there is some rust on one of the plug threads...
Is there a Mercedes logo on the the plug? If so, they're original, proper gap should be 0.039". At that mileage replace them all, I got my plugs and wires from needswings.com, best price I could find. And yeah, the factory plugs were way to tight, but an overall easy job, just those last 2 by the heat shields are a pain, lol.
No Mercedes logo, but they were Bosch Iridiums...I went ahead and changed them all, especially considering the rust that was apparent on most of them. The car idles MUCH better now...will be taking a trip soon, so will see how it runs. Thanks for the help everyone!
Most recommend to change them out at 100k, I bought my car with 96,xxx on the odometer and changed the plugs and wires within the week. Up to you, but it's a good precautionary maintenance measure.
Has anyone noticed the 'G' and the 'K' on the spark plug wires and the corresponding markings on the cam cover? Is there a problem if you don't match those wires to those locations?
