values increasing
Am I wrong or have our values started increasing quite a bit. I checked Kelly Blue Book and mine is back up to almost what I paid for it in 2006.
I think you are correct. I also noticed less crossfires for sale on ebay lately. Also, I thought I read a post about a guy having trouble finding a low mileage car at a good price (He was thinking about 10-12K). I would say the supply is getting lower and the demand is picking up a little. Our cars are timeless classics and a very eye catching design so I expect our cars to gain value over the years. They won't be expensive like an old 50's corvette but they won't go down to the value of a Fiero either.
I checked the value of my '05 Limited roadster w/14,200 miles on KBB after reading this thread and I was pleasantly surprised.
Current private party value is $16.6K and dealer retail is $18.6K. I didn't look up trade in value because I'd never consider doing that unless someone was holding a gun to my head!
I paid $20.9K at Carmax in July 2008 and it had only 2,800 miles on the odo. I think it was a damn good buy for a practically brand new car that retailed brand new for $39K.

...just checked my SRT. As it sits right now with almost 45k on the clock (used 45k as the miles) it has a private party of $18.2k and a trade-in value of $15.8k. Which is awesome since I only paid $16.5k for it with 19k miles on it in 2009. Also, doesn't count the modifications, which obviously may not count for much at the dealer...but count for something in private party.
My SE went up in value the month I bought it. I paid 25k new in the wrap. I had a standing offer of 30k. within two weeks. Not for sale. rarest production car trim in history. I took my chrome off, last month.
gary....
I concluded Crossfires need no embellishment.

Hi Guys
I just bought my 2006 Black Limited roadster with 9500 miles for $19,500 about a month ago in NC.
I couldn't resist the car with that low mileage.
Dont care about the value , it would be good if it does stay stable or increase but i wouldn't sell it for the world. I love it.
By the way i hope everyone is going to the "Tail of The Dragon" meeting in October in the NC mountains, 45 cars going so far and rising. Should be a great time, and some great driving.

Funny timing. I received unsolicited mail from a local Chrysler dealer today who is in desperate need of 7 Crossfires due to the "unusual number of customer requests". Drum roll -- and BLACK BOOK value is as much as $10,765..but he's offering me a $2k premium. She ain't for sale....unless someone comes up with an astronomical number that will allow me to retire, buy several more Crossfires, and spend my retirement hours returning them to perfection.
I just got back into the Crossfire world since selling my 04 Coupe in 2007. I picked up a very good condition one owner 05 Roadster auto with 70,000 miles from Florida for $10.5K. I think I stole this car from what I have seen for prices. I am very happy with the car and the deal.
Heh... actually, the Fiero still fetches pretty good resale value if you have the right one. The problem with the Fiero is two-fold. First, it started off on the wrong foot since the first year models had the recall that caused engine fires and gave the car a bad reputation. (Actually, the fix was a simple re-routing of a poorly placed oil line. One of my friends had an '84 Fiero with close to 200K miles on it and no major issues, as that recall was done immediately after it was announced.) And second, the car received a LOT of much-needed improvements only in its very last year of production. So most people "in the know" who'd consider buying one today would only want the (rarest) 1988 model year with all of those issues addressed.
On top of that? It's just personal opinion here (but one shared by many people I talked to) that the Fiero's body style didn't age too gracefully EXCEPT for the GT versions. The more common "wedge shaped front bumper" looks really dated, and is what you usually find on a used Fiero when it's anything but a GT trim.

I got a letter like that too, offering me $10,040. The letter said he needed 6 more Crossfires by Aug 4, I don't think he has had a Crossfire on the lot in 3 years. The same sales manager that signed the letter told me 3 years ago when I was looking for one that once he got rid of the 3 new ones that had been sitting on his lot for 2 years, he didn't want any more.
