Thinking about getting a roadster..
What are any complaints you guys have about the convertibles? And how well do they hold up? How does it sound inside when at highway speeds or higher speeds!? Contemplating whether coupe or convertible... hard choice both are sick!
They're a bit noisier because it's a non insulated top, but that's about it. Mine is a weekend toy so I had to have an open car and a manual gearbox, and I've never regretted having either. With the Magnaflow exhaust on the car the sound is just fantastic with the top down, especially under broad overpasses or in tunnels.
Do it.
Do it.
Well that is nice to hear! How is it on the highway? Is it easy on the ears? Or should I say is the sound quite enough to easily talk to another person in the car?
I dont mind mine at all. It is a bit noisier when cruising down the freeway, especially when you roll past a semi or something else with large tires on it. Out on the open road with nobody around though it isn't really loud at all. I love having the option of driving a normal car on bad days and a roofless car on those great days. Some of the southern states seem to have problems with the rear window falling out, some even from the really hot states, but it gets over 100 here a lot and I haven't noticed any problems with mine at all.
I also think the rear of the roadster looks nicer than the coupe. Thats simply a personal opinion though and yours may be entirely different.

I had a coupe before buying the roadster. Yes, it's louder but hey, it's a convertible. I have no issues conversing with the passenger top up or down. Can use the bluetooth just fine on the freeway top up, fuggedaboutit top down.
Hmmm yeah... I am in Texas on the gulf coast... so the south of the south... great... So if I want a convertible then need to always be aware it could happen or just get coupe.. ha
But on a warm night, top down, a bright moon and cruising along the coast - who cares about talking, music, etc?
I have a hardtop and a roadster. The roadster is much more of an attention getter, specially with the top down. The hardtop is great for trips - it hold quite a bit of luggage, particularly if you have the Crossfire luggage which fits perfectly. The roadster can hold enough for a three day trip for two but you can't put the top down if you squeeze the luggage into the trunk. The seats seem a little more comfortable in the hardtop - I am not sure why but I think there is a little more front to rear movement available. Bottom line - if the car is for fun go with the roadster. If you need it to haul the groceries, etc. go with the hardtop. They are both great cars.
What everyone else said - if you don't need the space and the car is for enjoyment, then the roadster is the way to go. We have absolutely no complaints with ours - it's just pure fun.
