Just installed the windscreen
Just installed the windscreen.
I really became concerned on the last trip to SPI Tx (about 800m round trip) with excessive wind noise coming off the rear deck and into my right ear.
I talked to DT and he said the windscreen would really quiet it down and turned me onto kingpennisdustries.com. Haven't had a chance to test it (it's raining out) but it looks like the perfect fix to the problem.
As mine is an SRT (only 928 ever built), I was suprised to find custom itching with the SRT badging and the silloette of a Roadster.
Now that it's on and I've had a chance to look at it, it does look like an accessory but a really good accessory and I think it enhances the look of the car.
Are more Mustangs going see that and want to race? We'll have to wait and see.
Thanks much DT and hope to see you at the next Houston Coffee and Cars.

I just had a chance to drive it a bit and there's good and not-so-good..
The good is that the constant blast of air hitting my right ear is gone and now there's gentle puffs of air kind of randomly blowing my hair around. It's perfect IMO.
The bad? Making right-hand lane changes at nite as the etching and lights from in front reflecting off it make it hard to see if there's a car in the blind spot. This is something I can get used to though...I think.
Definately need to get some photo's up as this is a pretty unusual car at this point. Maybe this weekend.

I think it is the same kind of windscreen that Santa Fe Cruiser has on his roadster at The Dragon. Don said it was there when he purchased the car. Everytiime I saw a roadster with a windscreen I wanted to check it out. So I guess a windscreen will be on the 'list'.

It doesn't do much unless you have the side windows up as well. But it does cut down on the buffeting at highway speeds and makes the car more comfortable in ~30° weather with the top down. I went with a factory screen 6 years ago. My only complaint is that if I get caught in a little rain with the top down, the screen gets splattered very quickly.
It's a similar shape but it say's SRT-6 and there's a silloette of a roadster on top. Yours looks a little less busy.
I adjusted the rs mirror out and it elimates the need to crank my head all the way around. There's no problem seeing through the screen in the day and I don't think I'll have to worry about it at nite now either.
Actually, when you get used to the new mirror position, it's easier to make the right-hand turns. I like it.
