Default Local holiday parade

I've been asked to drive the Chair of the County Commissioners in the local holiday parade Sunday evening in my roadster. I said OK. Then my husband reminded me that the chairperson is a BIG guy. Both tall and wide. Well - the top will be down so the height should not be a problem. And I don't think he is that wide. Anyway, I recall some posts from individuals talking about height and weight for comfort behind the wheel. Nothing about passenger comfort. Oh well - it is not a long parade and we will be in the early line-up. I hope this will work out OK.....

Awesome, sounds like fun and good publicity for the xcrossfire. He'll love it.

Don't forget to add a few more PSI to the tires for the "thick" official, don't want to see you blow a tire for low pressure he may create!

I've never had a passenger complain about comfort... in fact, most compliment the deep footwells.

Thanks DT for the info about the PSI!

Alexfire - I promise to NEVER let anyone sit on the tonneau cover. That is a deal breaker.

I appreciate the advice!

I just carried a 6'6" politician as a Veterans' Day parade passenger -- top down, of course. I thought he looked a little cramped but he said he was fine. He liked the heated seat feature.

It was a bust. The chairman arrived with his mother. None of the organizers told him he was riding in a two seater - so he thinks his mother will ride in the passenger seat and he will sit on the back. NO NO NO AND NO. (Are you listening Alaxfire?) I suggested that the organizers switch him to another car. There was a politician who no-showed, so that worked out ok. So I get out of the parade line-up. As I'm leaving with the top down various people say - 'hey neat car. Cool car. A Mercedes right?'

That was my own mini parade.

I was just reading about another holiday parade, some B-list celebrity was the guest of honor, a gal who made a few flicks in hollywood. She was a small thing. Road in the car top-down, sitting on the top deck, waving to the crowd. When she exited the car, her stilletto poked a hole in the leather seat. So, it's those small, sneaky women you need to watch out for!

I found that, in a parade, the tonneau cover with a blanket over it works pretty good as a seat for a 90lb prom queen. Just be careful - too much wax and acceleration can lead to disasterous results.
