Question can anyone post pictures of MOPAR windsreen bumpers

I bought the windscreen from CTD germany and NOW I see mopar is selling one for $145
see www.moparsupercenter.com
the one from chrysler has bumpers that attach to the rollbars and I am sure are to keep the plastic from vibrating like mine does. I tried the mopar site and Jeff there said that mopar will not sell parts of accessories so I can't get the bumpers without buying the whole thing. I know a guy here that will try and make two up for me if I could get a picture of one of them and some description of how they attact to the roll bars. From the picture(small) on the web site it looks like they sit behind the plastic and probably act as a dampening device. My question is what keeps them from rotating around the rollbar and no longer working? Better yet does anyone know anyone at mopar that would let us buy a couple of them without buying the whole thing. Someone has to make them somewhere. maybe someone can find out who makes them and I can buy directly from the subcontractor.
TIA
larry

Seen the picture and if I understand the problem, your getting some vibrating or touching noise on the backside of the acrylic and the front side of the roll bar tube.

Try getting some felt pads with self adhesive backing that can stick in the area between the two points. These felt pads are normally used for putting on legs of furniture and come in different sizes. I would think that this would fill any gap that is there and dampen the vibration you are getting. Give it a try; the cost is minimal.

no the arylic does not touch the rollbar. the acrylic is about 3/4 of an inch away and in front of the rollbar. Most of that distance is fore to aft. there is less than 1/4 of an inch distance left to right between the rollbar and the windscreen. this is what you would want to block the most wind. The problem is that the windscreen is only attached by the two clips on the panel between the seats(roadster only clips). The windscreen is unsupported for its's entire height from the convertible top hard cover up. It is the wind that it is blocking that causes the windscreen to vibrate. The problem is that when you look thru the rear view mirror everything you see is "thru" the acrylic windscreen. It is moving around of the windscreen from the wind that makes everything appear to be moving in the rear view mirror. The picture looks like the blocks which appear to be about 1 1/2 x 2 x 1 1/2 only rest against the back of the windscreen which I assume is enough to keep the acrylic from vibrating. My concern is how do they attach the dampening block to the rollbar and how do they keep it in place rotational wise on the rollbar.

Thumbs up Re: can anyone post pictures of MOPAR windsreen bumpers

I looked into the plexi-glas wind deflector, and really don't like the plexi - glas look. I know others who have these on thier Roadsters(various makes) and have the same problem. I am in contact with the company below to see if they can make an application for the Xfire Roadster. As soon as I get more info I will post it here.

Link to Chrome line: (artekelno. 4010 is the model in question) Looks better than the Plexi -Glas, fits the lines of the car better. Had a similiar one on my Sebring Convertible and it worked great.
