Default Windrestrictor Door Sill Install

Need to know the best and easy way to wire the sills. The instructions from Windrestrictor don't match up with the wiring harness behind my seat. Does anyone know the proper wires I need to tap into?

I wanted to buy the OEM lighted sills at one point, now they seem to be missing in action.
I think they are about the only option that I do not have on my want list.

The Windrestrictor Sills have wiring for each sill and they don't connect to each other. So I'm trying to find the wires that come down from the light dome or the wires that activate the light dome when the doors open.

Why are you trying to deviate from the instructions provided by the manufacturer?

Because the manufacturer told me that the instructions are for the hard top. He (Kent at Windrestrictor) said to use the dome light wires. So I'm just trying to locate them at an area where I can tap into them.

That makes sense! Thanks for the explanation. Getting the lighted door sills are still on my "wish list" so I would have encountered that same issue at some time.

I can only say that you are looking for a red/gray wire.
It would most likely run to the rear cargo light through the passenger side sill, but I don't know that for sure.

I'll look on the passenger side. The wire is long enough on the driver side sill to connect to the passenger if I have to.

The OEM lighted sills obviously connect to the very wires you are looking for, so what's the problem?

Cause I was thinking I could hook them up separately from each side.

Probably you can, just find the unknown wires.

On my 05 roadster it was red w/gray stripe and brown w/yellow stripe. These were in wiring harness behind driver seat. I ran both sides to driver side but think that same wires are on passenger side. These wires were to door switch for dome light.

Update: Found the wires on the passenger side. Red/Gray and Solid Brown (intertwined with Yellow wire). Was able to run the driver side wire over and worked like a charm!!!
