Talking Is this wrong...??

So, it snowed like a ***** here last week. Got cold, snowed, got warm, melted, got cold and iced up. Just typical Cincy winter. basically crap.

But on one day, it got to 60 degrees!! crap was melting and the roads were wet as hell, but i had the uncontrollable desire to unlatch the top and drive around in the gray afternoon with the top down and melting runoff spattering in my hair from the car in front of me.....

having never owned a roadster prior to this, but having been in love with topless cars since i learned to drive, i have a small question.......

is this wrong!?? i mean, there was snow and ice everywhere. the sun wasn't out, yet i was overtaken by an urge from the bowels of my subconcience when i saw the small black numbers 6 and 0 on the temp gauge!!

could someone please send spring and summer up my way sometime soon! i'm desperate!

LOL! Just watch out for road salt that would suck if that got on the interior of your Crossfire!

My wife and I are east coast transplants out here in (normally) sunny southern California. Even now, mid winter if the temp is over 50 degrees my wife will drive to work with (her) convertible top down and heated seats on. She had a couple of Saab convertible's but now she drives an SLK230. Most SoCal natives thinks she's nuts!

I'd love to send you some nice weather but mother nature has a way of influencing things... keep your chin up, nice(r) weather is just a few weeks away!

oh buddy i hear ya...finally the temps soared into the low 30's here last night and as soon as the temp gauge hit 32 degrees my top was off! I've waited 6 years for a convertible so i'm gonna put the top down every chance i get. So no, i don't think this is wrong...i think everyone that owns a convertible should think the same way as you!

Car companies are starting to come out with cooled seats. That with the ac on would make for an awesome sunny-hot-topless-day-in-Florida!! That sounds a lot better than driving through the slushy, salty 30 something degree day with the seat heat and heater on full blast!!

I'm with you, Cincy. When you get enough for yourself, send the overflow good weather north!!

I used drive around in the summer with the air on and the sunroof open.

You guys back east turn the heat up and drive naked or topless.

Got my 05 December 20th, 45 degrees outside, wrapped up warm, turned on the heated seat, put top down and went for a run. Caught a cold, was it worth it.... every minute of it.

Nope, I drove my Austin Healey 3000 as an everyday car in the 60's ,that's 1960's, for 3 years with NO roof, just a tonneau cover. PA does get cold and lots of snow too. Even the snow couldn't stop me or the Healey. Drive what makes you happy and don't worry about what they might think. Big Ron

I felt the same way it got up to 59 last week and dropped the top. I lived in California and loved it, took it for granted but could not afford to stay so I moved.

Big ron,
I did almost the almost the same thing with my 69 datsun 2000 roadster. Had a winter coat with a hood on the passenger seat under the tonneau cover if it got really cold and an umbrella if it was raining and I had to stop at a light. That got me some strange looks. The windsheild rake on that car keep all rain off me if I was going at least 10 mph. The xfire still gets you wet at low speeds. The datsun top took about 5-8 minutes to put up or take down. It was real tinker toy affair. I admit in akron Ohio, I finally put the top up around Xmas and put in back down in March. but it was one quick car with no traction from it's toyo hard as rock and this as a model t's tires. I think it had about 135 HP but it didn't weigh anything. two shifts and you were doing 90 in 3rd.

It can't be wrong. I had two convertables and finally gave up and bought a Sebring Coupe because I was tired of freezing everytime the sun came out here in Michigan. The urge most be normal for those of us who are live with four months of snow.
But then I had the chance to get a new Rordster, and I am back to freezing and eating salt. At least the heated seats work well.
