Unsafe Car
At 5000' altitude in New Mexico, you should be running with PREMIUM octane to avoid engine knocking. Dealer is wrong on this one. I run on SHELL 91 here in Colorado, and no problems whatsoever. At this time of year, you can plug your injectors by running inferior brand gasoline, especially the incorrect octane, stay with a brand name. Get back on a steady diet of the correct gasoline.

I agree, You should be pissed, but I usually call the other forum members KNUCKLEHEADS when they say something stupid...
I would not listen to anyone teling you to put anything less than 91-93 octane in it as the manual says. It will knock as dan root says and someone else on this forum said they used regular and their catalytic convertor went south in 500 miles. I personaly don't understand that unless the the person went and put LEADED regular in which would do that. But they said it not me.

That sounds like what happened to you. Dan, sorry if I repeated myself, but I quickly scanned the thread and didn't see the above response.

How did you stall it? Your fault or mechanical?

Once the car setteled enough to try to re-start the engine (or my brain was clear enough) I just turned the key from the current on position to start and then NADA... Not realizing I had to turn the key completely off, then on before the starter would engage.
Once I figured out that little tid-bit of information, the re-start was a bit of a pain since I usually run with only enough gas to make the laps I'm doing and I must have sucked air into the injectors during the spins and the car wouldn't fire immediatly...
To make things worse, I was on the outside apex of the last turn in the chicane, with quite a few other cars trying to avoid me... Bare in mind, this all took place in less than a minute...
All in all, the car has always worked like a CHAMP for me. Granted, it's underpowered, but I have had some serious fun with it on the track...
I hope that in the next year or so I'll have enough money to turn it into a serious competitor... If there are any sponsors reading this thread, drop me an e-mail !!!
Epyon, don't worry about Root and Byars, they obviously are not nowledgable anyway. There is a lot of good information on this site. So throw out the garbage some of these guys dump on the site and enjoy the good stuff.
