center console
i noticed today that the storage space on the center console does not lock. I looked in the crossfire brochure and it says that the console is lockable on the roadster models. Do i have a wrong part? I would assume that it would lock the same way the glove box does, by using the key and locking it, but there is no such lock. Whats the deal?

It definitely locks with the remote when you lock the car. I found out the hard way and almost tore the damn thing off one day after first getting my roadster (before it hit me and i went "huh...interesting!"). Maybe that's why i now have to have the damn thing replaced b/c it has trouble staying closed now.....
at least it's warranty and they're doing it free.
That's a really cool feature - glad I found out about it!
I have a new radio on order since mine froze again for the 2nd time, this time however turning the car off and restarting it didn't work. Luckily after a few hours break it was ok and spit the Nav CD back out. I'll also be having them look at the obnoxious whistle my car has when the top is up, and the rattle coming from the rear at slow speeds while turning (like in a parking lot). You'd think they'd have all of these little kinks worked out by now!
Regardless, I still adore my car!

One time I locked the doors out of habit when I stopped to get gas. I had to unlock the doors to open the gas door. When I finished I couldn't close the gas door all the way. It took me a little while to realize that since I didn't open a door, they automatically relocked preventing the gas door from closing.
None of this kind of stuff is in the owners manual. That's what makes this forum great. We would all be bald from scratching our heads, trying to figure all of this out!! LOL!
Once I did an experiment to see what people could get into if the top was down and the car was locked with the keyfob. Do it with your car, but leave the glove box unlocked and after the alarm is set, open the glove box. I did this in a closed garage. UGH!
Seems the only thing you should have to lock manually is that glove box if you don't want someone to get into it when your top is down.
