Default Pain in the BUTT

I have a 2005 Roaster that I have had for about a month. Love how the car handles but today was the first time I have been able to take it on a long drive (2 hours). after about an hour and a half I got a sharp pain in the right side of the butt and down the right leg. I think the seat was pinching the sciatic nerve. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what have you done about it?

Thanks Al

yea, it hurts, the seats are uncomfortable for extended periods of time, i wish it has suede inserts.

nothing really, just get used to it.

or you might want to add a gel insert or something.

I drove it for 2 hrs(longest stretch for me) with no problems, just fun, but I'm small. My husband is 6'3 or 4" and 220lbs., drove it for about 3 hours and was a little cramped, but enjoyed the drive. He didn't complain about any pain. I think someone else was complaining about his leg getting numb after a long drive. I think it's just a small car and dowsn't have much room to move around while you're driving. The Vette has a lot more leg room.
Maybe take more breaks on a long drive and stretch out now and then would help.

I DON'T THINK IT IS TOO SMALL. i HAVE A MIATA WHICH IS SMALLER ANDI DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM. I THINK IT IS THE WAY THE SEAT IS BUILT.

I have run several 12 hour stints in the car. I do readjust the seat every hour or so to change pressure points in the legs and back to avoid the problem. I also get out of the car for a short break every 2-3 hours to stretch and get a diet pepsi.

I have driven mine for over four hours straight with only one short stop for gas on several occasions and have never had any problems with pain. I think the seats are very comfortable.

I did a 12 hours (6 hours each way) in a weekend to Atlanta and back, then 10 hours a few days later (5 hours each way)....anyway I am still recovering from the back pain that all those hours cause. I love the car dont get me wrong, but I wish the seats had a little give to them so it wouldnt be so bad. I dont think its the leg room at all ( I am 6'2") I just think the seats dont have enough cushion...

I have to run into this problem, even on shorter trips, it would start with a tingling then it would shoot down my leg and then a pain. Once I started taking out my wallet, it hasnt been nearly as bad. The wallet is a killer.

Yep, everybody should get off their wallet a little more often. It might make the economy come around!!

There is a store called Brookstone. They sell a lumbar support which is made from that space age foam and has a blue terrycloth outer case. I have one and it does help on the long hauls.

I'm 6-1 @190 and have set in the driver seat for over 4 hours at a time. Your butt will still be numb but your back won't be. I think the issue with the XFire seats is how close they sit to the floor which puts your legs straight out and transfers your weight to your butt rather than distributing some to your thighs. I think all sports cars would be similar in this respect.

Removing the wallet is big too.

I get it all of the time. Look up a condition called Piriformis syndrome. It doesn't matter what car I'm in. Doing the "stretch" helps.

It happens to me, too. In my case, it's just old age. In Bullseye's case, he's just a natural pain in the butt. Regular stretching and changing the seat position helps.

Guess that's where your wallet went. At least you can fit in the xf seat!

Here's how to cure it....turn your car seat heater on if you have that problem. Heat helps with your butt circulation and sometimes it's better than Viagra!

I didn't think that people in Texas would EVER have to turn on the seat heat!! But if it helps your butt circulation, that's not far away, so you could be right about the
viagra , haha!
OK, I'm going to quit there!
