Convertible top has trouble going down
When I release the latch the windows go down. Then when I hit the top switch it just beeps. I stick my finger in the latch opening on the windshield header on the passenger side and after a few tries the top goes down. Is there a switch in there that may be needed to be replaced? The top goes up with no problems. If there is a switch does, anyone know the part number?
If the windows go down automatically, then the switch in the windshield header is fine.
Turn your attention to the "top open" switch above the passenger's head and the divider switch in the trunk.

It is mounted on the top frame just above the passenger's right ear.
I has a plastic slider that actuates it when the front portion of the top is raised from the windshield header that signals the pump module that the top is ready to be lowered.

I wrote a long description of how the entire system works, can't find it now.
The switch above the passenger's head closes when you unlatch the top and push it away from the frame -this tells the controller that it is now safe to run the pump, but the divider switch in the trunk also has to be closed. If these two switches are closed, when you hit the button, if the trunk is fully closed, the TCM will lock the trunk and start the pump and off you go....

The top open switch seams to be the problem. When I hold my finger on it the top opens. The next questions is, can it be replaced and what is the part number? Again thanks for your help. Happy New Year.
I think someone managed to find one at MCM Electronics online. Another option is Digikey online.
I think, somewhere, there is a thread here where someone came up with a part number - not an automotive parts store part number, but a manufacturer's part number that works with the online electronics parts distributor's websites.

Expect to pay about $4 for the part and maybe $6-7 for shipping at such a place.
If you can find it as an automotive part, it may run as much as $35 or more.
