Wiring errors.
After 12 years of use I finally noticed the following wiring errors on my 2005.
1) The radio is wired to a pre ignition source. Meaning with the car stopped and the key out you can still turn on and play the radio.
2) The "Key-ignition Reminder" which is supposed to come on when you leave the key in the ignition and open a door, in fact comes on as soon as the key leaves the on/run position. This means that the ACC position is of no value as the alarm overrides all else.
I started looking for anomalies because I have an ongoing problem. If I leave the car for 5 days with out driving it, the battery dies. Two dealers visits have yielded
zero results.
My question, is this just my car ?

If you take out each fuse one at a time and put a light bulb or a voltmeter across the fuse terminals you may find a circuit that is live when it should be dead.
If you do find one you have found the source of your problem.
You can also check if there is too much current draw on the battery when the ignition is dead and the doors closed and locked. I am assuming that the battery is good if not it might be on the decline.
I'm about to recheck. The last time I looked the draw was 45 Mil Amps with everything off. Seems normal enough. I have acquired a new multimeter and fuse puller and will explore further. The wiring anomalies however are a point of interest, what else could be wrong ?
A door switch not working properly?
The switch in the ignition switch that tells the system that a key is in it.
