Default Transmission help

I live in Frankfort KY and need to find a good transmission person who works on the crossfire automatic. Does anyone know of a good and honest person with in 100 mile radius of Frankfort? My 2005 crossfire roster with only 22000 miles needs some help. Any help would be appreciated.

No first hand experience with any of these shops, but it’s a start:

first to second it has a jerk, took to Chrysler dealer to have them do a transmission adaptive reset and to see if there were any codes showing up . No codes and they said they tried to do a transmission reset but said it didn't do any good. they couldn't really say what was wrong but that it would be a lot of money to fix. the car shifts fine in all other gears it only jerks when you start of between first and second and when your slowing down from second to first.

May try replacing the conductor plate and a new set of solenoids.
Another thing to try : put the selector switch in "W" - makes it start off in second.
( Like the doctor said "If it hurts when you do that, don't do that" )

Well before replacing or rebuilding a transmission I would add a can of Seafoam TransTune and drive a bit. Have had shuttle valves get sticky before in my cars and usually clears it up. A transmission oil change after a couple of hundred miles would not hurt.

Has anyone else here used TransTune ?

The Chrysler dealer would be the one I would least trust. These are Mercedes transmissions and they have no clue. If you don't want to mess with it yourself , at least try and independant shop that understands Mercedes.

You are welcome. BTW Chrysler used A Lot of NAG-1 (WA580 / W5A580) transmissions, my '12 Jeep has one (large case) so a Chrysler dealer should know how to work on one but may not. Agree unless under warranty I would not go to one either.

In case you haven't yet got your car repaired: I just had a similar problem with my '05 transmission not shifting beyond 2nd gear. My local Chrysler charged me $200 to "diagnose" the problem, telling me the transmission was beyond repair, new transmissions are not available and replacing it with a rebuilt or salvaged transmission was not recommended because "they rarely work". The rep then asked my if I'd like to talk to her about making a trade-in on a new car. After thinking it over for a millisecond I said, "Uhmmmm . . . . no."

I went on line and found that there were lots of new, rebuilt and used transmissions available for $500 to $2000 and labor usually runs about $600 to $800. I sucked in my belly and took my car to a local transmission shop after making a few phone calls and getting good reports on his reliability. He fixed it in 4 days for $442. The problem was not the transmission but the line that carries multiple communication wires from the engine computer to the transmission, telling it how many RPMs the engine is making.

The dealer can bite my shiny metal ***.
