Exclamation Power Roof problem

Second day I had the car....the roof would not go back up....light on button started flashing and beeping. Followed the manual procedure to put top back up and took it to the dealer. They had it for a day and were unable to fix it. The roof is up...but is rattling badly which did not happen prior to the problem. They gave me the car back and asked me to return after the weekend. Anybody else have this happen? What was the fix?

Haven't had that problem, but I did notice that it won't go up while it is in gear. I always have to shift if into neutral (6spd). I also had a problem one time when the divider in the trunk fell down and it wouldn't go back up until I fixed that.

If yours is rattling, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they were physically pulling on something at the dealership to try to get it to release and they damaged it.

The problem I have been having is that the glass won't latch into the trunk door when I put it back up. I have to physically give it a little push then hold the button back down so the motor draws it in the rest of the way.

p69firebrd,

Your paragraph 3 problem can be easily corrected by the dealership. I had the same problem and was surprised how fast and perfectly they fixed it!

The rattling actually started after putting the roof up manually following the procedure in the manual but before the dealer did anything. The back of the roof by the glass is not down tight. Also...the rear defroster and manual spoiler deployment buttons don't work making me think it may be electrical problem of some sort.

I checked the fuse box....found some of the spots had higher amp fuses than what was listed in the manual. Don't know if that is a problem or not.
