Its been about 3 years since I created this thread but the time came for me to purchase a new top
I did and I'm sharing it here to refresh this thread -

Lets hope it didn't degrade while in storage, like a current new owner who has a problem with a recently installed new top the previous owner eventually installed.

How difficult is it to install a new top and had you done it before. I am considering buying a low mileage car but it needs a new top. It goes up and down as it should, but it's coming apart at the seams.

My wife and I changed our top ourselves in an afternoon. Didn’t break any speed records, but fit was great and it came out fine. You need a good rivet tool, other than that it takes pretty common hand tools.

 

I was not about to tackle it, not when I had friends who could do it for me. They did the entire job before breakfast in a condo parking lot during the Eureka SPrings event.
Join the group, attend some events, and you need not do anything all by yourself. (Of course, "Kingwood" is not a location, you could be in Australia where there are a total of four Crossfires...............)

 

The glue around my window is starting to look bad and I'm considering a new top. As I'm a new CF owner this site is helpful. Just wondering if I didn't want to tackle it myself, who I would take it to (I'm in St Louis, MO) to install?

 

Robert McCubbin replaces tops, he lives in Olathe, KS. He did mine free at the Eureka Springs meet, in June.
He will be at the Smokies meet next weekend. He also hosts "tech days" at his house at least twice a year.

If you wanted him to make a special trip, he'd charge you for it but probably not a lot.

THere is also Zach in South Carolina, Rick in PA, Eric and Cliff in Ohio, etc.


YOu can take it to a local shop and get ripped for for $1500 for a two hour job, many such shops do a pretty awful job but at least they are expensive.


Here's Robert teaching Zach how to do it, on my car, in a condo parking lot before breakfast. Cost me breakfast for the two of them.

 

Do the Tops from BAS International come with a Glass Back Window or is it plastic? Also are they sewn in or just glued? Do they have the defroster built in the glass?

Also are there any places in the U.S. that can match or come close to $821 (total cost with shipping price) that is mentioned above in this thread.

I have been quoted $350 for the install her in the Houston area, I am just trying to get the best replacement top for the best price.

BAS tops have glass glued in with the defroster inside the glass exactly like the OEM top
Very good quality and I doubt you will find anything even close in price anywhere else
I have a BAS top and many others here I know do as well
I highly recommend them and they have been a major provider for the Crossfire owners here for 8 years or more

 

Hello again. I decided to replace my twice repaired soft top on my 2005 Limited Roadster, blaze red with vanilla interior and 20,100 miles. My problem is I’m getting a kickback on my emails to:

Follow-up: I emailed BAS at info@bas-international.com and received a response directly from Rebecca. I submitted my order for a new soft top for my 2005 Limited Roadster. The current cost through her is £539 with added shipping to North Carolina of £90. The turnaround time quoted today is 4 weeks. I used an exchange rate of $1 = £0.79 and totals $796. This is a lower price than the company website she says. I look forward to its arrival!

 

Mine was $740 delivered to Texas in 2019. If everything else rose so little in price since then.......................
