My father in law has a 2005 silver LTD Roadster with 4k on it. He has the lease prepaid for the next 24 months. He will transfer the lease to me for 3500. That means I could put 32k on it in the next two years. I would sell my 92 Nissan stanza (commuter 25 mpg avg 89 octane) and my 2002 Ford SVT Lightning (weekend toy 91 octane 13 mpg).

I would want to do it in order get rid of the payment of $445 on the lightning, and buy a house.

The only thing I am worried about it registration costs (Sacramento CA) and how many sets of tires I would have to buy. I would also need insurance and I am 25, so I would like to know what others are paying for insurance.

Any input would be appreciated.
