I have notified a few experts who might be able to help. I cant even think of what those straps are called. But I do know that if you order a new top, they do not come with the new top.
Thanks pizzaguy. Ever since I reglued in my rear window the top has been much tighter to latch. I wonder if that’s putting more stress on these straps? Doesn’t look like they ripped.
Regluing the window is a waste of time, in my experience. I reglued mine twice and gave up. My new top cost less than a set of tires and will last 20 times as long as any tire on the market.
Zach in South Carolina has those straps. I will private message you his number, but I"d order a top and just do it all at once. Right now, BAS tops are around $800 delivered in the USA.
Paid $3200 for the car a couple years back. Clear coat is totally failing. 110k miles on it. Cleaned ,primered and urathane set the window a couple months ago. I’m pretty sure the top will fall apart before that window comes out again. Actually considering harvesting the drivetrain to go into my 1969 TVR Vixon.
The straps area attached to the convertible roof framing. The top just goes over all of that.
New straps are available. Someone posted them a while ago.
You won't get a photo from me, as my phone refuses to operate it's flash.
The straps go from the headliner frame (white arrow) to the rear bow (yellow arrow). The straps are part of the top MECHANISM, you can see one in the picture below, as Zach and Bob replaced my top at the Eureka meet in 2020.
THe top itself is just the fabric and glued-in glass.

Do a search for chrysler crossfire convertible top pads. You will find prices and photos.
I gave him Zach's number. Zach has new straps and knows where they attach, as he's replaced enough of them that he got a local guy to make replacements.
