So...I called ISG today...they asked me their 8 questions, and I was able to answer all but one: Which dealer I wanted to buy my next car from...

Cutter has huge discounts (6-7K) on all of their '05 models.

Windward is willing to discount a Durango (if it is still here when I get my money).

Long of the short is that there are no crossfire convertibles left (other than the SRT), and everything else that chrysler makes sux in comparison to the crossfire. I have asked for a buyback so I can just move on before I am stuck in a PT Cruiser or Neon...

Only the regional guy can approve it and he is in the Philippines for the next three weeks on vacation...I quit!

Jess - Sorry to hear about your lemon. Read your list of choices and I'd have a hard time too. Mike is right, you bought a sports car, none of what's offered fits that bill, fast SUV or fast family car. I had a Vette once that I had problems with, took all the fun out of owning it. I'd take Mike up on his offer before he changes his mind. Good luck whatever you decide and thanks for your service to our country!

Pat

Now to add more drama (Go TNT)...the dealer says he is not authorized to discount the vehicle because it is a MSRP swap...I just can't win for losing. Chrysler is saying no buyback, the dealer is saying no mark down, so now I am kinda stuck. If I had the money and wanted to be a jerk, I could buy one of their "we're not gonna budge 10K marked up" SRT's; or maybe their 30K marked up 2004 Viper. That would fix em. Wish I knew someone who wanted to pay MSRP for a SRT. Thanks for the thanks; there was a long time (pre 9-11) when this was a thankless job.

~ J

PS: I guess this means I can't get Mikes Viper.

Yeah, that happens here all the time. They burn em to keep the fingerprints from being lifted...Fire department is getting better at catching them. I left it completely open in Nanakuli and Kalihi...no hits.

LOL

My wife has a Dyna Low Rider, and I have a Road King.

I think the Jeep will work out...the disappointment is clearly in "settling" for something. Rubicon's hold their value REALLY well, so it should be OK. Also, they get stolen very frequently. :-)

Thanks for the input guys. I am a creature of habit, so I am sure I will frequent by.

One caution, incredible money pit! One thing thats great about the crossfire is there is no aftermarket, keeps mod money in the pocket. No the case with the jeep. Jeeps are like vw bugs, lots of accessories and always adding parts! Have fun there great.

My last Jeep lasted us 14 years. We really enjoyed it. One of my disappointments is that the only ones available have an automatic. The one with a 6 speed is hard top only...just can't win LOL.

Can you get one from ebay and have it shipped to you? Your local dealer won't let you pay for one and they order it, meaning pay before you receive.

I found an SRT6 in NY that the dealer was willing to write off the amount sans rebate to get me into. Chrysler said no. If I pick any other, I have to go get it and ship it back. So it is better for me to just "settle" for what is here.

So what are your first recommended mods after disco's? LOL I want to get the F/R discos and a two inch lift as well as F/R Tube bumpers and maybe a winch...

Well, The problem i have noticed is one thing hindges around another. Want a lift well after the lift you need a short shaft kit for the transfer case and new gears depending on what size tires you run. Get bigger tires and start doing some challenging things well the front steering will fold like a pretzel. See how beefy my steering system is? Folded my stock tie rod into a u shape. Bumpers, lights, winch, stereo, cb, etc are great mods because you can just install them. Once you start lifting etc. you start exposing the other week links of the stock jeeps. There is a mod for the rubicon that i have read about that can be wired to throw you locker on when in 4 hi which is nice. 4 lo only kind of sux.
