Question Leak from rear diff

Anybody else have this problem? SLIGHT "oil" leak from rear diff. Brought into dealer, told needed new seal. Fixed? No, of course not...2 weeks later noticed still leaking (again, very slight). Brought the car back to dealer, told one of the screws weren't tightened all the way. Problem should be fixed...NO noticed yesterday slight leak again. What the heck is going on? Anyone...

This problem must be something relatively new to the forum, since it's been posted for 12 hours and nobody has commented. I sure hope your dealer can correct it. Axle grease smells pretty bad.
Good Luck!

Sure its not transmission fluid. There was a huge problem with the seals on the srt's.

Ours doesn't leak, but I suggest a different dealership if they can't fix it in one try. DonXme, I'd like to know more about the HUGE problem you mentioned on the tranny seals... What sort of problems did you have? Start a new link or point me to the link that exists about that... Is this across the board or only for those SRT-6 that may have been abused at SRT Track Experience for a while and then resold as "executive" or "dealer demo" cars as shown in some previous threads.

Well, just wanted to give an update...
"Blue QT" is in the shop. Dealer now says they need to "re-build" rear to fix problem. Never stating what the problem is, of course! They did say what they tried last couple times is not working, so this is the next step...Well, DAH!!
Are these mechanics actually trained?? I seriously wonder sometimes! Anyway, I should get the car back in "couple" of days I was told. Let you know if fixed, and what the heck the actual problem was, so you guys can look out for it.
Thanks for all the help & advise. I DID give the replies to the dealer, whether or not they listened, can't tell you!

Thumbs up Re: Leak from rear diff

OK...my "BlueQT" is all fixed...I hope!
Got her back yesterday...so far, so good!
They replaced two axle seals and resealed rear diff cover. Let you know if any other problems occur. I guess this was a "fluke", 'cause I haven't seen anyone else say they had this problem. Anyway, it's fixed, again! Hope this is it.
Thanks for everyone's help & suggestions.
