The SRT-6 showed itself to be more than a match for the Carrera S up to
a speed of 145 mph, where we backed it down due to traffic ahead of us
on the I-75 on ramp from Spring St. in Atlanta. I took a little crap from a
fellow member, who just couldn't believe the story (he didn't believe much
of anything good said about the SRT-6), so it is nice to have someone else
confirm my findings.

Racing on the street is bad mmmkay?

I can tell you from first hand experience that an SRT-6 with two occupants will run bumper to bumper with a Porsche Carrera 4S (996 chassis) with one occupant from 60-120 mph.
The SRT-6 will walk away from a Cadillac XLR-V (supercharged 4.4 liter Northstar) and a late model BMW M3.
The 05 Mustang GT is slower than the SRT-6.
The Lexus IS350 is quicker than you would think above 60 mph but is no math for the SRT-6.
A WS-6 with exhaust mods is a good match for the SRT-6 if the driver can shift.

I'll take my SRT-6 to the 1/4 mile for the first time on October 15. It's officially past it's break in period and in full party mode.

I'll be taking mine to the 1/4 mile track soon also. I've got about 4,500 miles on it now, the track shouldn't be as busy and its a lot cooler outside now.

Put me down for a fresh kill. it was a late model 300Z non turbo. Talk about easy Japanesey, especially against a limitedXF. what a dog!

we met up at a stop light, and the guy was giving me the I'm mr. cool guy looks, lol. Anyways we didn't take off immediately, I got up to about 30 mph, and was waiting for him to catch up. so we're cruizin' along, I'm in 4th just waiting for him...so we're finally rolling together, then he downshifts and I do the same. It wasn't much of anything really, kinda weak race, but it gave me a little shot of adrenaline. I stood on it through 3rd and pulled away darn quick. then he just looked like he gave up after that. hahaha! sorry to crush your dreams little Z.

I see you haven't yet grasped the idea of starting a new thread or doing a search on that topic.
I know there's a lot of newbies here lately, and some of you guys are asking questions on old topics, it just gets annoying seeing a thread go off on a tangent.
I was once a newbie and did the same. But if you start a new thread you will get a better response!

this last weekend i was taking a trip so ennis speedway in texas, there were three of us. i was driving my srt6 roadster, one buddy in a g35 and one in a focus. through the twisties, absolutely no competition, the g35 just couldn't cut it, i won't even comment on the focus. we also did a run from 70 on a nice flat stretch. this is where the srt6 just made the g35 look silly. i pulled on him immediately and decided to toy with him after i got a couple quick car lengths on him. the first thing he said to me was, "i couldn't believe how much you walked on me, that is a quick son of a *****.

About three weeks ago I was on a smaller highway and pulled up next to a '05? corvette convertible. he thought he would lose me by going through the long sweeping twisties @ 90 but i just kept on his tail with plenty of room under the pedal. the road then proceeded to straighten out for ~1 mile and it was on then. he mashed the throttle as did i, i caught him rather easy and proceeded to pass him at 120. i ran it up to about 140 and looked back to see him a good 6 cars back. who knows if it he was on it all that time but i know one thing, his face had a bewildered look on it when i passed him.

I have to disagree on the G35 out handling a SRT-6. Motortrend uses the figure eight testing and the G35 is left for dead. The SRT-6 matches the M3! I also ran a WS-6, problem is...its auto...I spanked him bad from a stop and from a roll, I left my car in auto mode...we are talking bus length from a stop to 110. From a roll he could keep up for the first three seconds and bam he is falling back swiftly. His car had a loudmouth or no cat exhaust...his time slips have him at 13.3. Not slow for a 4 speed auto! Thanks for looking!!!

ws6vert has a point. According to Road and Track Road Test Summary Oct. 05

...Skidpad g... Slalom, mph

Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe... 0.92 ... 66.7

Crossfire SRT-6 Convert... 0.84 ... 67.6

Crossfire Limited... 0.89 ... 69.6

350Z... 0.89 ... 67.3

I thought it was interesting the softer suspension on the Limited performed better than the SRT's. Maybe the heavier roadster body hurt.

Yeah I know I read the G35 COUPE pulled a .92. You can't hardly find a car under $50k that will pull a .92.
