I'm considering buying an aero blue srt roadster that the original owner says has a body stripe. He said that it's silver in color, runs on the side from the front to rear and is not painted on, but is removable. But he says it was put on at the factory!? I've never heard of such an option. Any clue what he's talking about?

no such option from the factory/manufacture.

mine came like that... I purchased mine directly from an auction and never bother to find out where the stripe came from... at first i disregarded it, but now it is starting to seriously annoy me and my attempts of removing it have yet been somewhat unsuccessful.

if your stripe is painted on... finger nail polish remover will remove the pin stripe off without harming the factory finish beneath. just polish the paint surface below once you remove the stripe.

polish (to remove any scratches, dullness, etc) & then protect it with a coat of wax.

 

I hope you are not referring to the stripe on the side near the bottom of the door panel. I had a blue tape on my crossfire when the dealer sold it to me.
I did not notice it at first but after the dealer sold me the cross he said that the stripe was tape and he could not take it off. So I had to get the car back.
He scraped the tape off and painted the bottle of the door panel (near the crossfire silver plate). I am glad he fixed it.

 

Sorry but what the %#&$ are you guys talking about? there has never been a stripe offered in any aspect for the Crossfire...

There was a black roadster that had a gold pinstripe down the side at a dealer by me. It was a dealer applied option but I thought it broke up the lines of the car and didn't look all that great.

 

they were talking about it two years ago. were you bored?
