SRT6 is a Winner
I have been meaning to enter a local car show to see how the SRT6 would do. I got my chance at an event sponsored by three local car clubs held at a Fuddruckers Cruise Night.
I have been working on the black beauty's paint for over a year and while I have been able to reduce swirl marks and scratches they were still noticeable. I consider this therapy as others in the forum have mentioned. Along the way came the Porter Cable 7424, Sonus Swirlbuster, the special Sonus Swirlbuster sponge applicator for the PC, Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax and Sonus Acrylic Glanz.
Swirl marks are about 95% gone as are most of the scratches. The finish has a deep black "wet liquid" look and it appears the judges agreed yesterday (well agreed or blinded).
There were 42 entries. Most were PT Cruisers. Some of these puppies were really tricked out. There was a Camaro drag car (looked mean), a Nomad wagon, several 50's era pick me ups (all beautifully restored and modded), even more custom rods, a Buick GNX, a Maverick (all original) and an assorted variety of others.
The Buick, the Maverick and my SRT6 were the only ones nearly stock. My mods are only the blacked out/chrome bar grill. A trimmed belt/engine cover. The SRT6 engine and Crossfire dash plaques.
Award plaques were given to the "top 12" most desirable entries. A first time entry and the SRT6 came back with a plaque.
Damn fine cars, those Crossfires!

Very cool. I've been thinking about taking mine to some local shows as well. Not that I plan on winning anything, but just to let others see it and so I can see all the other cars.
A lot of the shows I've seen advertised up here require your entry to be 25 years or older. Some allow 'special' entries though. We'll see what happens.
Congrats.

Congratulations; that's a great result. We have a winner here.

"Reading reviews like this make me realize how lucky those of us who own a Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 are.It is easily the “under the radar” sports car of the decade. It will easily trounce the TT and the Boxster and costs significantly less(My roadster was $38k new and coupes sold for the low 30’s).They also are extremely rare.My black roadster is one of around 250. Perhaps TTAC should correct this oversight and try to find one for a test drive."
Is Hularocker on this forum? If so, that was a properly positive post. We need more like that on other boards so that more people will understand how great these cars really are.
I entered another local car show today. Another plaque!
This time I was able to show off the Carbon Fiber finished items. When I pulled in I was the only "modern" car. Although the notice said open to all, most of the cars were vintage, 30's to early 80's and one Cobra replica there was some serious money invested here.
Nice vehicles all. The SRT6 drew a large crowd and lots of questions. Just before the judging the host announced that they had a "really expensive car" entered and referred to the SRT6...LOL.
They had a hard time putting me into any category so they gave me the "Special Interest" award because everyone was buzzing about the SRT. Several entrants had expressed it being unfair because their cars were OLD...more LOL.
Looks like I picked up a number of customers for the carbon fiber treatment. All commented that it looked as good if not better than the real stuff.
Ichon, I am on your tail. That's 2 for 2.
