how come?
how come everyone says that convertible weighs more than coupe, i am sure this is true. but when i look at the GVWR weight both say the same number, on the srt6 it says 3,870 lbs on both coupe and roadster, i thought roadster would be around 4,400 or 4,500 lbs? so that would also mean the coupe is a faster accelerating car...am i wrong?

due to the reinforcement needed for convertibles and the weight in the top mechanism, etc, almost all cars offered as a coupe and a convertible are faster in coupe form.
the roof is what keeps the car from folding up in half in most cars... its is structurally integral to the car... when you take the roof off, you have to sure up the rest of the car... i believe the only car that actually became lighter in a roadster is the Austin Martin DB9, but the body still flexes under harsh turns.
Since the xfi was designed from the beginning as a convertible (SLK), maybe the extra reinforcement was already in place, and some weight is lost going from a steel roof to a cloth one.
