Default SRT6 Wing - details

I am wondering if the 'internals' are under the SRT6 wing to convert it back to the regularly motorized wing? Is the lifting mechanism hiding under there just disabled?

convert it "back" to what it possibly never was?

i doubt there's anything under there.

Often times on a production line it is easier and can be cheaper just to leave the internals there and just put a different wing on...just wondering if that was the case here...I want to like the SRT6 but I am having trouble with 3 items;

1) No white
2) No manual tranny
3) The large fixed rear wing

I am mulling over if the AMG hand built 330 hp supercharged engine is enough to overcome those items...hmmm...

No accounting for personal taste I suppose. I don't understand why you would want an SRT-6 to look like a Plain Jane Crossfire. In my opinion the fixed wing makes the car. I wish they had done more to make the SRT-6 look more aggressive. That would be like a Mustang Cobra with hubcaps.

There's been a couple of spoiler lift assemblies on ebay like this one. You'll still need the spoiler itself and the molded panel under the spoiler too.

~ jd ...

if you go this route... i think you'd better off... replacing the entire hatch with a 'like new' salvage yard piece... and retaining the original for the next owner.

I owned a Limited prior to purchasing my SRT-6 and I thought the same thing and checked out the under side my limited hatch to see about a swap.

On the SRT-6 - there is no motor, hinges, drain tubes, wiring harness, dash switch and my guess is no relay commands from the computer to activate the wing at proper speed. Also the piece that "would be the wing" on the SRT does not have the molded edge.

Like other SRT owners - the fixed wing grew on me - plus its one less thing to break down.

As far as the computer goes, when I picked up my SRT the dealership was having a problem with the roof opening. They told me they had to reset the computer to an SRT as it was looking for a wing down input or it wouldn't open. They had a Chrysler tech out to help so I would hope they where telling the truth.
