Default Tail pipes?

I've noticed that some Xfires have black inside their tail pipes including me. It looks to be a factory coating, not spray paint. Others have chrome throughout. What gives?

My limited was silver (after cleaning).

My SRT is black - and I like it!

Exactly the same here. My '04 Alabaster pipes were shiny, but the '05 SRT's pipes were not. In fact, I painted them (the inside) with a gloss black heat-resistant paint to make the distinction even more clear-cut.

I looked at a 2005 Aero Blue SRT6 coupe at a dealer. It's one of the used new ones. It has shiny pipes. Weird, they must have been grabbing pipes nilly ***** from the parts bins.

SRT6s came with black paint inside the tips. Non SRT Crossfires are silver.
Some people have taken all of the paint off of their tips (SRTs), and some have painted theirs (non SRTs).

The ones on my SRT were plain old dirty silver. There was no evidence that they had ever been painted or coated in black. I cleaned them up and decided to paint the centers black, as I preferred the cleaner look of it. I have seen other crossfires, and they have ALL been silver tips including a "new" SRT Roadster with 77 miles I looked at the other day.

Seems to be another example of ***** nilly to me. Anyone have backwards window switches or mirror switches? Yeah, I rest my case.

I'm not sure what color my 'new' SRT has...I'll have to check it tomorrow. I do know that after only 3 weeks and 900 miles of driving, they are getting very dirty though. Just yesterday, I was noticing a little bit of ugly black buildup on the edge of the pipes.

Any tips of how to clean this buildup off easily?

~ i wipe them out after every washing. and i use "nevr dull" wadding polish (non-abrasive) once a month or so to maintain the shine.

Ditto, same here for both of mine! (Look Below)

SF

(Yes, I know they look a little dirty. I hadn't Detailed it yet, when I took it to the Dragon, the first time).
