Strap on rear passenger seat

Yeah it centers the middle Child seat retaining strap for the LATCH system. It's in the manual under the Child Seat instructions. The LATCH system is actually federally mandated. Even the Viper has this. I thought it was amusing that my friends F430 had it too.

I had heard it was something to do with umbrella storage, kid you not. Didn't give it much thought either way. I think that in Germany the cars do have some kind of strap in order to tuck or stow the umbrella while you drive. That would mean you would actually take the car out when there is a chance it could rain?? Sounds crazy.
