Default Going to the track tomorrow! -

Gonna run the SRT/6 at Byron dragway tomorrow.

I read the various threads about turning traction control on but the car "feels" quicker with it off.

Any tips?

trac-control off, hold brake until about 1,800 rpms, foot off the brake and floor it. My ran faster if I put it in auto stick and let it shift it's self. 12.87 at 108 - good luck at the track and have fun.

Yeah, put it in Autostik mode and let it shift... Mine won't will only go to 5,700 in regular drive before shifting... In autostick mode it goes all the way to 6,100 before shifting. I can't advise on the ESP On/Off, I actually ran my best time with it ON. If the track isn't too crowded and you can get a decent number of runs, try it both ways and see what happens.

I did power brake it to around 1,800 and floored off the line like he said.

I was supposed to go to Byron today also. I was going to help a buddy of mine with his GMC Syclone, he's been having wastegate problems this year. Unfortunately I have to much to do around here to get out there, would have been nice to meet you. Post up how you did when you get back.

Welp with the advice above I was able to pull a 13.2@105 with a 1.9 60 ft. and 84 degrees at the track. I know the car could run a little better with cooler weather. Completely stock and has 1,590 miles on her! Not too shabby...

Byron usually puts down some good times. Nice run. Did they have the track prep decent this weekend? I only live about 25 min from there but i havent made it down at all this year. I really like that track.

Track prep was good there...we did start late around 10:30-10:45ish which does not help when I was looking to run the car as cool outside as possible.

Nice, your sure to be in the 12's once it cools down. These cars are just plain fast. I am going to the track again in two weeks. I hope to have a water/meth kit installed and a better intercooler pump by then, I would love to see 12.5

Ok, let me rephrase the question. Is Byron dragway near Chicago?
