Default Sprint Booster on SRT6 - First Impression

Ok guys,

I got my UPS package today when I got home. Inside was a small little device that took less than 3 minutes to install (literally). It took me longer to go back to my tool box and get the correct screwdriver than to install it.

I didn't have a chance to unplug the battery and 'flush' the electronics, but put it in anyway and went to our local friday car hang out.

I Instantly noticed a 100% better throttle response!

The added/newly gained throttle response is definitely a pleasant change, and how the car should've been from the factory. It is clear to see how someone could think they 'gained' horsepower from this mod, as it definitely gives you a false sense of 'boost'.

For the money, I would definitely buy it again. I hear it improves after the first few days - we will see. Maybe it is just people getting used to it?

As of now - I'm quite happy with the purchase and I won't hesitate to recommend it, as long as the person realizes it is just throttle response and not horsepower.

Thumbs up from me!

SQ

Who or from where did you purchase your sprint booster? I am so curious to find out about how good a sprint booster will improve the performance of my SRT-6. Not performance as in Horsepower like you said but as far as throttle response. I am kinda dumb when it comes to installing things in cars. Seriously how easy was it. Can a beginner install the one you got or anyone?

You literally remove two screws, remove an interior trim panel, unplug an electrical connection, and plug it back in. Reinstall the panel, then reinstall the screws.

The hardest part is 'seeing' the connection as it is tucked up behind your throttle pedal. If you have overly large hands, or if you are a large guy, you may have trouble maneuvering down there.

I bought mine used from someone who traded their car in. But it can be bought one bay.

Do a search or click the link in my signature.

Yea, there are a few group buys which cost a little less...but not too much.

$280 seems a little steep - but for the results, I would've paid it.

I didn't pay $280 though, about 1/3rd of that (with K&N Filters) from the classifieds on this forum.
