Best way to remove a dealer sticker?
I am going to pick up my SRT-6 this Saturday, but the dealer I am getting it from put their dealership decal on the rear bumper, which I HATE. I was just wondering if anybody knew the best way to remove a decal like this without messing up the paint... Thanks!
Hair dryer. Warm it up for a few minutes and it should peel off (I learned it from the good folks here on the forum). Worked like a charm for me. I hate those *(#($%!@ things, too. What makes them think you want to advertise their business on your property?
Any auto parts store offers a spray or liquid that will take it right off also. The stuff i used was called sticker shock. Just be very careful not to get it on anything that you don't want to come off.
OH MY FREAKING GOD... I agree with mediacritic...
Nothing pisses me off more than picking up a new car and seeing some pathetic dealer sticker on the back! I've actually told them to get that thing off or I won't take it off the lot.
Next time it happens I think I'll try to arrange for lower payments...just to defer the cost of my advertising for them!
To get the sticker off I'd try the hairdryer thing, then follow up with some "goo gone" if there was any residue left over.

Is it a sticker or an emblem?
Where did you buy your car from?

Thanks for all the replies!
Here's the link to the add for the car if anyone is interested in looking at it:

If you are doing it yourself, the hair dryer and "Goo Gone" trick works like a charm. But the point is you should not do it yourself - Tell the dealer to take the sticker off your car, being perfectly sure not to scratch anything. I won't pull one off the lot with any sort of stuck-on advertisement ...

That's what I did the last time I bought a vehicle.
That way, if/when they damage it, they pay, or reduce the price.

I meant to say you shouldn't have to do it since the dealership that put it on can just as easily take it off. If you don't trust them to do it, then by all means do it yourself. It's easy ...
I wouldn't use goo gone or goof off or anything that abrasive, especially when "paint chips" is on the can for things it can remove !!!
WD-40 works great for that. Use that instead.

I just got mine off a couple hours ago using a hair dryer and a vinyl coated fishing line leader. I simply put some heat on it for about a minute or so, slid the line , ever so gently, behind the upper peak on the pentagon and pulled while applying the heat. Came right off. Just a small residual outline remains. I'll get that off when I wash the car in the morning. Tonight is the bike's night out, SRT can play tomorrow night.
