engine question
Thanks, bikecop. I have trouble understanding the configuration of some new engines. We've had a GMC-blown '55 Chevy for years so I'm used to seeing the intake as a single flat piece sandwiched between the top of the engine with the supercharger siting on top of it.

These intakes are not only complicated, they are computer controlled variable length runner intakes! There are two paths for the air to take depending upon the RPM of the engine a set of vanes changes the path of the air.
On the SRT6 the air makes at least 2 back and forth paths front to back across the engine. It's no wonder they need an intercooler system (Air Charge Cooler).
Cheers!

I 'm always learning something from this forum......I did not know the intake was complicated.....I thought it was pretty straighforward pressurized air into the combustion chamber. Thanks for the questions and the answers.
