Anyway, I'm thinking that if I remove the Crossfire and SRT6 badge from the trunk, I might want to remove the Chrysler logo from the "wings", and replace it with an AMG badge.

Then I thought, wait a sec, the car isn't totally AMG, it's more of a Karmann creation than anything. So I went looking for a Karmann badge. There's not much out there, and nothing that will fit in the circular Chrysler spot. I thought about making one up, using the 6 pointed wheel logo from Karmann, and having the the words Karmann and Onsabruck around the outside, kinda like the circular AMG badges.

Of course, I'd have to put one on the front, and on the wheel caps too. How hard are those things to get off? I know some people are replacing them with the custom Crossfire logos, so it shouldn't be too hard, right?

What do you think?
I think it opens new profit horizons for the decal/badge makers, although they may want to confer with counsel before getting too far along in offering Karmann products.

I was going to email Karmann and ask permission to reproduce their logo for placement on our cars. I'm pretty sure that as long as we ask nicely, they'll say yes. If not, I'll just use the AMG badge.

Thanks Dan, I already had you in mind.

I just sent an email to Karmann USA, asking permission to reproduce their logo, and make badges. I also requested artwork and specifics on colors. Most manufacturers provide this kind of info to people that want/need to reproduce their logos.

I'll let you know what I find out.

Sounds great. Karmann would make the perfect emblem as they built the car.

I sent Karmann a note (as many have done) and hope for favorable results.

SRT-6 Crossfires are all AMG but they are Chrysler Crossfires. Keep it original and be proud of what they are and what we have. I hate cars with fake high performance emblems on them and loud mufflers. The srt-6 emblem says it all. Just my opinion. Thanks

I know what you mean. I'm still contemplating the "V6 Kompressor" badges. I like to make people think and wonder a bit. I don't think it's the same as putting a big STI or R badge on a stock Impreza or Civic. The car really does have the AMG SC V6 so the addition (not removal of SRT6 badging) of the V6 Kompressor badges ties the AMG and Chrysler design together. I would be putting the Komp. badges above the faux side vents on each side of the car. Other opinions?

Above the strakes is an excellent place to add badging, if you are going to add any. Especially if the badging differs from what already comes on the respective models. Of course I am not speaking of the badging available on this forum for ridding one's self of the Chrysler logo. That has to be placed where intended.

I agree, I think that hood would look great on the SRT6.

If you are referring to AMX's hood, he spent LOTS O' CASH designing and having it fabricated from steel. It is one of a kind!

Hey, the great folks at Karmann sent me two of their decals and two of the badges after I emailed and asked. What great customer service.

I will definitely display the badges on my car.
