Default NC Flying Mile Question

Anyone know of a "Flying Mile" type race in NC? I have heard of one, but can't find anyting online about it, now that I have a car worthy of entering.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers,
KrzyFast

I'm a land speed racer. I run an event in down here www.texasmile.com .
Your event is called Maxton www.ecta-lsr.com

Be ready for a ton of rules and you can only run 130mph or less before being tossed from the track.
The Texas Mile allows you up to 190mph before you need a cage.

How do we remove the speed limiter(155mph) from the SRT-6

You can have the limiter taken off with ECU upgrade. I had it done through powerchipgroup.

I heard the limiter is actually not that limiting. Any truth to that?

Thanks HK-Phooey! I am going to to check out the site right now.
As far as the limiter goes, I think Any ECU upgrade/flash will remove it. I was always under the impression that removal was part of what the tuner(s) do to the ECU.

Cheers,

What is the cost on a reflash? My next Mile is in March.

The cost is approximately $500...probably more for Renntech, but I have not checked.

Here is the list that I pulled from another tread a bit further down.

ECU posssibilites I'm aware of are:

Powerchip
InMotion
Renntech
Evotech

The NC mile run starts in April. It looks like they have two days set aside per month from April to June and then again in Sept and Oct. I am shooting for April. I have always wanted to do a race/run like this.

I have topped out cars on backroads before. Quite a bit actually, but being in a sanctioned event like this would be totally different. The calendar has been marked.

Here are the dates:
  • April 5 - 6
  • May 17 - 18
  • June 28 - 29
  • September 27 - 28
  • October 25 - 26

Cheers,
KrzyFast

Just FYI on speeds.
134 mph on a Standard Crossfire
145 mph in a stock Sti
153 mph on my 331 hp WRX
179 mph on a 565 hp WRX STi
173 mph on a stock 2006 Z06
181 mph in a Carrera GT
181 mph in a Stock Ford GT
149 mph Stock CTS-V

Don't expect to max out your car in a mile. It will never happen, I have 100+ passes down the Mile in many cars, I have not done it yet but it's not for a lack of trying. You will be removed from the Maxton track for safety at 130+ mph. Maxton without a cage is a waste of time IMO. The Texas Mile, is much better surface, better rules but a much longer drive.
