No service history how about warranty
I am looking for SRT-6 and found one. The dealership that has it is not Chrysler dealer and says that they don't have it's service history. It has 16K miles on it and carfax report shows first oil change done after first 1000 miles but nothing after that. Dealer says that engine is in good shape, so scheduled oil changes have to be done. What if I get it and will have some engine problems later. Is warranty still covering it even there is no evidence of scheduled oil change?
what are the last digits in the VIN......it might have been a menber's car.......most of us change our own oil....it's WAYYYYYYYY cheaper than going to the stealership.
No mention of that in the SRT-6 Vin collector thread.

Chrysler doesn't keep records of dealer provided maintenance.
So it shouldn't matter if your pistons change holes, it should be covered!

...uh no
Chrylser's Dealer Connect program does keep track of all service work, warranty work and maintenace performed by their dealers. I worked indirectly for Chrysler and used the program many times.

Interesting...
this information was provided by the dealer I bought my xFire from.
I won't do business with them anymore, but, for many other reasons.

I wonder what the dealer looked at to see that the engine is in good shape. I don't see any way that you could tell if oil changes had been done on a engine short of tearing it down. After only 16K you probably wouldn't be able to tell anyway. If you don't have any maintenance records to prove that the oil was changed according to schedule, the warranty would probably be void if the engine problem could be related to poor maintenance.
