Hello! I am in the market to find and locate a used SRT spoiler. I think I have read on another thread that they are about $800.00 or more new. So any information as to where I might find one would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
You are in luck I have never liked the wing on my srt and have always thought about getting rid of it. My local dodge dealer told me 700 dollars for the metal wing for the limited. I was originally going to buy that panel and store my wing----until I found out the price. Just for curiosity I asked the price of the srt wing and she told me 1100----unreal! Make me an offer I will get back with you. All I am looking for is enough money to get to get the holes filled in the panel under the wing and painted.

Why don't you two just trade wings?
I don't know if the control part would work, but I don't see why you couldn't put the pop-up wing on a manual control.
Just a thought.

I was thinking about $500. I could even meet you in Kentucky or somewhere maybe just over the Indiana line. I live in Cookeville, TN and am not afraid to drive. I take any opportunity to go on road trips in this thing.

I was looking to get one for about $400.00 I'm in no hurry to get one at the moment but if we can agree on price I would sure deal with you. I am in the process of buying a set of rims at the moment also, so I have to watch every penny. Thanks again!

I'm sure you have already looked into this if you are looking to swap wings...but if I remember correctly from when I owned a Limited, if the limited wing is not functioning correctly, the car will limit your speed.
In other words, if you remove your limited's wing - and try to put an SRT wing in its place, the car may have an adverse reaction.
I believe this swap has been done before, but I don't know what it took. So, basically, just make sure you look into it before you swap wings and head on your way - otherwise you may not make it home in time.

You will need the spoiler panel, the motor, hinges and mounting hardware, the drain tubes, the wiring harness and the switch on center console, a new fuse and make a custom wiring harness from the fuse to the switch - and the system will not automatically deploy the spoiler - it would be a manual task.
Like others - I thought the SRT spoiler was to big - but now I like it - I like it alot.
** EDIT **
As for installing an SRT spoiler on a Limited - not sure - but I bet you could fool the system into thinking the flapper was always deployed - if you kept the stock wiring harness...

My concern is the alarms the limited had on it when the wing was inoperable. If I recall, you get a beeping sound if the wing doesn't deploy - and I thought I remembered reading someone's car being speed-limited due to a wing malfunction.
Could be wrong...but I know for a fact that it will at least start beeping at high speeds if your wing is not working (non-SRT).

I'm not sure about it putting the ECM into a type of "limp-in" mode.....but there is a number of sensors that attach to the motorized spoiler system that wire directly into the Body Control Module.
I'm pretty sure all it takes to defeat this is simply grounding the "Rear spoiler limit sensor" to ground and you should be alright.
