Has anyone tried the TVT, or other, modified thermostat? I have been considering this and would like some feedback from any who have tried it on the SRT.

I have not, but I too am interested in going with a lower temp thermostat.
I put one in my father-in-law's Vette and it seemed to work OK.

According to their add they didn't change the temp of the thermostat. "We've aimed to modify the stock thermostat to allow coolant to flow in before it is fully open, but still allow for cooling running temps.
We've left the stock opening temperature as to not interfere with the fan or heat." They say it changes from a 220* op temp to 180* -185*. That is a very good improvement.

if you can pull out the thermostat you can modify it yourself with a dremel tool, try serching MBZ forums on this.

 

I have a Limited Coupe (non-supercharged) and the TVT thermostat works fine, usually run about a quarter on the gauge instead of halfway. Noticeable power difference over full hot, esp. on the track during a track day at PIR............
