An old article. So much promise...
Once in a while its good to read a pos. article abou our cars. At the same time, it's a little sad. There was so much promise for the car. In the article, you'll read the author's thoughts about where the SRT would be fitting in competition wize once it was to go on sale.
Still fun to read, and regenerates my emotions I had when I first read about the car back in 2004-2005.
Cheers!

If most of these writers actually drove the car instead of drinking the koolaid these cars could have sold much better. But I wouldn't have been able to get my SRT.
Agreed. The SRT-6 needs to be driven over time in order to learn and appreciate all of it's attributes. Some of the best reviews were from writers who kept the 6 for several weeks. Some of the least flattering reviews were from those that drove the 6 around a track a couple of times.
My belief is that by simply offering a manual transmission, Chrysler would have sold many more of these.
This thing handles much better than my previous cars (Cobra, WRX), but I'm missing a clutch (almost enough to justify selling it).

A great article for sure - there are a few on the net. I just attended an "All American" car show this weekend with my uncle and his '72 454 vette. I lined up with the vettes ( because of my uncle )
. Picture this - 14 vettes of all vintages and one eeeeeeeeeeeeer Crossfire at the end of the line up
.About one hour later we stopped for lunch , next thing you know there are no less than 9 people surrounding the Crossfire pouring all over it and only a couple of people checking out ALL the vettes
and thats how it went all day. There is no doubt that the Crossfire is going to be a very popular classic in years to come , underestimated YES . Starting to get the attention it deserves - for sure. People are really slow to wake up to the classic Chryslers etc but thats their problem. Hang on to your rides people
