Default SRT 6 Got A Friend

I got another set of wheels for the SRT6, they also came with a platform . I haven't had a chance to clean & polish it up yet to take a pic, so I just copied a couple pic's off the web. The trailer is 18', but you couldn't see the wheels in the pic I copied. So I copied another pic with the wheels that are on it.

Steve,

Now you have no excuse not to get out to the SRT Drag Races in Indy.

I'm going to try to make it to the SRT event, I haven't got the trailer brakes set up yet. I'll just have to pull it slow & easy if I don't get the brake controller setup installed. I had to make all kinds of excuses to buy that trailer. My daughter's van broke down on her a few weeks ago and I was lucky it wasn't far from my house so I was able to tow strap it home. I told the wife with our daughter working so far away from where she lives and us too, that we needed to get a trailer to haul it with if it broke down 40 mile's from home . I also used the excuse that I sold my big old 8' bed truck that I could fit my 610 Mule in and it won't fit in the back of my new short bed truck.

Steve,

Is that just in case those new tires cause you to snap a half-shaft?

Nice car hauler - now you need a Cummins to pull it...although I've thought long and hard about trading mine for a gasser now that diesel costs $3.61/gallon!

I had thought about driving the SRT6 to the SRT event in Indy on the 22nd and just have the wife follow me with the DR's & a jack in her Envoy, but like you said if I break something if I trailer it I'll be able to get it home. I was going to buy the rock guard for the front of the trailer ($400), but I ended up buying a tounge tool box that's 49"($300) wide to mount on the front. That should protect against rocks & crap, it's only a couple inches shorter than the rock guard and I may fab up something else on each side of the box too just for a little added protection. Our Envoy has the heavy duty tow package with the self adjusting (leveling) shocks, but I still need to get a brake controller.

Does the envoy have the 5.3?

BTW, Lexan is relatively cheap and you can easily fab some brackets to make a rock guard that would be easily removed if needed.

Yeah, it's got the 5.3 and it's got a lot of juice, at least for the bus that it is. I think it's like 300 HP & 321 lbs of torque, (I just looked it up to make sure). I think it will pull the trailer with a 3,000 pound car on it okay, the trailer is all aluminum & only weigh's 1,300 pounds.

Take the video camera and make sure you save some room in the truck for the trophy you'll be bringing home!!

Ha, I'd sure be tickled to bring something home for all the work & $$ I've put into that car. We don't have a video camara, but I'll make sure the wife brings all the memory cards she has for her camara, it does short video's. I just hope it will be a nice day (60 & sunny), some of the biggest snows we have had here in Indiana have been in March.
