Default Project "Crossfire" has begun

Let me start by thanking Kirk for donating his Crossfire and trusting LET Motorsports with it.

We have a bone stock (K&N Filters) Crossfire that we are going to mod and hopefully get into the 11's at our track event on April 12th. This is very exciting and here are the details.

We spent most of the day with Kirk @ CPT (Chicago Performance Tuning) getting a baseline and deciding on the route we want to take with this car.

We did a baseline and this weekend will get a LET Heat Exchanger, Johnson Pump, and Phenolic Spacers installed. Once this is done, we will tune the car with our Stage II tune and put some miles on her. Once the 185mm pulleys arrive, we will install the pulley and dyno again before the track event. If more tuning is needed, we will tune the car again to ensure we extract every last HP.

We chose a dyno dynamics because they are known for being very consistent. As the graphs show, this car makes the same power over and over.

Here are the graphs.

Now, here is even better news. We removed the plastic intake tubes and the crossfire picked up 7whp! This finally proves that the intake tubes are the restriction on the crossfire.

Here is that graph.

All you did was remove the stock plastic tubing and you gained 7 hp??!! What are you putting back in its place?

Here's a link to the photos of the parts that were taken out.

Eventually the needswings intake will be installed.

Thanks again...Kirk

Keep in mind this is a dyno dynamics...this equates to almost 295 whp on a dynojet.

It is the best dyno to show the gains from mods. Also, we will have the car at our drag event on April 12th and will hopefully have good times.

Any chance that you folks could change the scale-factor of the dyno charts so that it doesn't top out at 1,000 hp? I know you guys are aiming high, but maybe if you could drop it down to the 400 hp max y-scale, it would be a biiiit easier to read.

Otherwise, thanks, it's great to see dyno plots of the SRT6!

I wish you the best of luck now go beat some records

Good choice with the dyno dynamics it is probably the most trustable one...

Brian had posted my thread of opening up the bottle neck, figured I'd post up one of the pic's of what it was and what it is now.

Me too, the dyno operator had already turned the fans off and was ready to call it quits when Kirk reminded me to try the tubes. After the first pull with them removed, he looked over at me and his face was priceless.

If this had been a dynojet, I would have choked it up to the dyno.

Update:

I took a stock C32 to the same dyno today and his results are below. It's nice to see that the stock C32 made the same power as Kirks (RIOT) SRT6 with the tubes removed. It was a tad hotter today too.

Kirk invited me to his place today to hang out and watch Jerry (amg-jerry) put on some of his mods.
I spent 4 hours there and I must say that Jerry is a great guy and definitely knows what he is doing when it comes to these cars. He is extremely thorough and very organized and professional while installing these mods etc.
As Kirk said the quiet street he lives on was lined with several Mercedes Hot Rods (sleepurs)and of course my XF Coupe.
Thanks Kirk for the invite and a enjoyable time hanging out and meeting others with a passion for fast cars. Gary (Valkryderguy)

I had tons of fun. My finger is almost certainly broken, as it has swollen to about 1 1/2 times its original size. I got about an hours sleep due to the pain...guess I hit it just right.

Wifey said I should hit the doctor up today....we'll see.

I regret not taking pictures now, but we can takes lots of video at the track!
