Newbie!
Hi, My name is Ron and I live in Kent, Ohio. I just purchased (haven't even picked up yet) an SRT-6 coupe with just under 4k miles, black with Nav and P tires! I have been looking for some time now and almost bought a new one about a year ago.
I've visited this site before as a non-member and am impressed with the amount of information available on these cars.
That's about it for now, I just thought I'd introduce myself and I hope to become an active member of this forum.

My vin# isn't 44094, that's an old zip code I had and have been using for years, sorry for any confusion.
It seems a lot of owners on this forum try and keep their mileage low. I am not sure what I should do. I have a daily driver (Caterra) that I was thinking about selling and just using the SRT as my driver. If I keep the Caterra and use it just in the winter, I could keep the mileage on the SRT down to about 6-8k a year. However, that means renting an extra garage and insuring an extra vehicle. The SRT has 12 months of bumper to bumper warranty left, in addition, the car has been certified and also carries the 8yr/80,000 powertrain warranty from the original in service date. Just keeping the mileage low seems to defeat the purpose of the warranties on the car.
Do any of you think there will be a significant difference in the pricing of these cars in the next 5-6 years, especially if the mileage is kept to a minimum.
I paid $19,000 for this car, certified and with remaining bumper to bumper with 3,981 miles on it. I think I got a good deal, I just want to do what is most cost effective while still having a great driving experience for the next 5-6 years.

I bought mine with every intention of driving it
. However, once I learned the cars history that made me want to garage it
. Then all these damn mods became available and now I want to race it
. For what its worth, my advice would be to keep an A-B car that gets better gas mileage than the 6 and use that as a daily driver (if 2 cars is an option). This way you can drive, garage or race the 6 at your leisure. Speaking from experience.
Congradulations Ron! Welecome to the forum. These are wonderfule cars and deserve to be driven. Once you put it on the track you will never want to put it away. Good luck on your purchase and I hope you have lots of fun!
Congratulations and welcome. These are great cars! I went both ways. I have a SSB with 1000 miles on it that I drive every week or two and then I drive the Aero Blue that has 21K miles whenever I want. I am moding the Aero. Life is GOOD!

Congrats. I too have a Black SRT and live in Ohio (Dayton area). I drive my SRT year round – but have access to several other cars so it rarely if ever gets driven in snow/salt (but it does on occasion). I don’t think the values of these are ever going to go up – except maybe 50 years from now so I certainly wouldn’t discourage you from driving it everyday. I do like to keep mine clean though and they are not good in the snow (not bad if you put on all seasons – I assume P tires meant the pilots). I bought a set of limited wheels and put on all-seasons (and swap rubber spring/fall) so I can drive mine in the winter. You will definitely need to do that if it is a daily driver – the pilots are like driving on hard blocks of hard rubber when it is cold out – think tricycle tires (but the pilots are incredible in the summer). So, if you do that you are probably looking at $1500 in tires and wheels – so keep that in mind when doing the cost comparisons with keeping the other car. Frankly, I’d keep the other car.
Good luck and welcome.

Where did you get your car, Klaben?
Since we got another coating of snow last night, I'd highly recommend keeping your other car.
You really should consider taking it to the Dragons Tail GTG in a few weeks. That will automatically show you what a fantastic car you just purchased, and exactly the kind of roads it was designed for. But more importantly, You will have a chance to meet a great bunch of people.
PM if ya want to get together sometime.

Welcome!
I am one of those who is in the middle when it comes to driving and milage. I bought the car with 10k miles on it for 24 grand. I thought that was a good deal. Remember, this car was a $47,000 car! Anyway, I don't drive the car on a daily basis, my good ol' 2000 F150 does the daily duty. However, when the weather is nice, I like to drive the car, and I don't worry about milage too much. I bought this car as a toy. I didn't buy it as a full size model. So, I don't see 5000 or 6000 miles per year as excessive. It is by no means a garage ornament, but it isn't a daily driver either. I'd say keep the other car, or better yet, sell it and buy yourself a $2000.00 or $3000.00 beater that gets good milage.
