Default Just brought my Aero Blue SRT6 home this afternoon!!!

I finally found what I thought was the best all around deal out there for me that was reasonably close. I am now the proud owner of an '05 SRT6 coupe in aero blue with 13K on the odo. Price was $18,500.00 from the dealership. I was a little unsure of the color until I actually saw it in person....the right blend of class and flash, in my opinion. I had an approx 1.5 hour interstate ride home so I decided on a long clear strech to give it the spurs......it is AMAZING how quickly 150 sneaks up on you, talk about super stable as well! Thankfully, the car was the Michellin Pilot Sport tires. I do have a few questions.....

1) Is it a design element that in autostick mode, the tranny will upshift super slow at times. I noticed when I was on it and upshifted manually, the car would sometimes rev another 1K or so rpms past my shift point. Is this normal?

2) Does the car generate alot of heat into the cabin? I noticed it got hot quick in there unless I had the A/C on pretty much constantly.

I'll post up some pics after I do a methodical detail this weekend!!!

That's a pretty good deal, probably the best I've seen as far as price & milage. As far as the speeds sneaking up on you, the SRT 6 is like the energizer bunny - it keeps going and going .
1) In autostick mode they usually won't shift until you are at red line on the tach.
2) Never noticed a lot of heat , you might check the two roller controls theat have the red & blue dots on them to make sure they are turned a the way down to the lowest blue dot. If you have already done that ,you may check some heater related fuses.

Thanks everyone! The original asking price was $20,990 so I was actually very surprised at the deal I got...plus I got the actual true value of my trade in, as well. I'll check the heater fuses but on second thought it may just be that it was a stuffy day here yesterday and teh interior being so small heats up quickly when you are not running the A/C.

I find that my cabin gets a bit warm on any day we have sun for very long. I live in Oregon so that isnt much until July! I keep the temp dials at the neutral or first blue dot most of the time.

Great deal on the car.

Congratulations, you just bought a great car.

Welcome to the forum.

To answer your questions:
1) Yes, that is normal. If you are accelerating, and upshift prematurely, the trans will wait before shifting to maximize your acceleration.

2) Only after really pushing it (like at our recent Tail of the Dragon meet).
Still, it doesn't heat up that much, but it is noticably warmer.

I live in Alabama.....but I bought it in Tennessee about 30 minutes outside of Nashville. The man who traded it in bought a new Corvette.

I'm making a trip to the dealership this week to make sure all the recalls/TSBs have been done.

My SRT6 gets really hot down by my feet during "Heat Soak" in the Oklahoma summer. I'm sure it would do the same in FL. All I have to do is kick on a little AC to get the air moving, and the problem goes away.

Welcome to the club!

I read that they have a computer that sets the car up to the way you drive. Disconnect the negative cable on the battery for 20 minutes and it will wipe that memory clean and will start to adapt to your driving habits.
believe me , i know this is vague but im sure someone will help out with the details
nice purchase, ENJOY
Steve
