Sorry for the delay on the video, but my wife taped it on our camcorder in video mode vs memory mode and I can't figure out how to get it off the tape to my computer. I know how to get it off the memory card but not the tape. I'll get my 16 year old to do it soon I hope!

It doesn't matter what your reaction time is unless your in competition, you'll still get all the numbers you are looking for. You can work on reaction time later, after you get comfortable at the track. A side note- don't sit in the lights too long or you'll just **** people off.
Thanks for the advice. Friday nights is always test and tune. From what I head that's when the street car crowd shows up. I went on a Saturday and it was mostly hard-core drag racers - very few street cars.

Anyway, I'm not sure what you mean about "don't sit in the lights too long". Can you explain that?

Sorry just saw this. When you stage your car and the amber lights count down and the green light goes on and your sitting there for an excessive amount of time, a slang term for this is "your sitting in the lights" or "sleeping at the light". This is ok to do in test and tune runs where your just interested in running your car against the clock to check your times. However like I said don't sit there to long or the guy's behind you start getting pissy.

HUMM, looks like Rob's old school G-tech looks pretty damn close to me.

so we got to the track, slapped on the slicks and opened up the exhaust cutout and pulled the grill, ready to rock! well, the battery on the laptop died so i wasnt able to record the datalogs on the zeitronix wideband the car takes a few passes before the pcm compensates for the exh cutouts, i would liked to have opened them up a few miles befopre the track but its too damn loud to hear them drone down the highway.

first pass was a 12.12@115 versus a 12.20@117 (stage 3 slicked srt-4)
cool, were off to a great start. i used an old school gtec aswell and it showed a 0-60 in 3.92sec and 1/4 in 12.15sec on that pass
second pass i cut a 1.752 60ft and ran 12.10@115
gtec showed 0-60 in 3.91 and 1/4 of a 12.13
thrid pass was after sitting for an hour waiting some broken POS to get towed off the track, i tried to launch a little harder and blew the tires away and went 12.3x@114
forth run was after another track cleanup and again launched to hard to grip and ran 12.2x@115
last run after waiting another hour for another POS breakdown cleanup we went 12.09@114.xx with a 1.83 60 ft

so, close but no cigar tonight, i think we can get into the 11's with this setup but its going to be barely into the 11's. time for more part designing to get us into the 11's comfortably

Hey Steve, show me someone who has ran better than a 12.50 with a 2.0+ 60 ft' time, I think that was my point! You can not get into the low 12's with over a 1.9 60' time imho, but I have been wrong many times before. And yes that g tech looks pretty freaking amazingly close! I was actually shocked how close it was, I'll take my foot out of my mouth now.

i got one for you, the video steve posted yesterday is a 12.3651@114.82 run with a 2.0802 60ft (spun thru 1st gear)

but yes i agree, the launch is the only talented part about racing these cars, the better your launch the better your pass. the 1st 10ft determins the run on whether it gripped or not

Rob,

You may have saw the 11 second light with a nice and easy 1.8 on that run!

I was just giving you a hard time buddy, I was quite shocked to see the G-tech #'s so close to an actual 1/4 mile run. The high 60' #'s are because of the way I've launched off the line, TC on and just stomp it. I've always done it that way so that I'm comparing apples to apples after doing a mod. I have only made 6 or 8 runs on my G-tech, I've made a couple of the runs with the TC off and did get lower #'s than I've ever posted. I never posted them because I was spinning like hell and thought there was no way the #'s were right. If you were to do a search on anything I've ever claimed about a G-tech, you would find that I've alway's said they were suppose to be pretty accurate. I'm doing a dyno next week and hope that the US 41 dragway event don't get cancelled again on the 17th so I can see what it will do. Who knows, I may get embarrassed at both places. But then again my car may be fast enough to reach the 12.3 with over the 2.0x 60' times, I'll have Hoosier DR's on when or if I ever get it to a track.

Those #'s are almost exactly what I posted on post 68 of this thread, except instead of spinning my TC is kicking in.

I believe you have the same GTech as I do Steve.......the RR.

If so, then the quarter mile numbers I was seeing on the GTech were pretty much EXACTLY 2 tenths faster than all the runs I did. It was very consistent.

I've owned that thing for a year.......I was always curious as to how it measured up with a real timing system.

MD SRT6,

I as a drag racer I appreciate your run. It took alot of work and testing. That run is flat out bad a$$..... Way to put the jaws on the floor.

Not at all. Thanks for sharing.

There’s nothing quite like purging the system to let everyone know you’re ready to get after it.

120 MPH?! That must be a kick in the tail. Kudos for making it come to fruition.

I'm going to a test and tune sunday. It looks like there was a 11.9 run @ 119 down in orlando last night! I'm leaving the nos at home and with the 24.5lbs weight savings maybe I can get close.

The use of the word "nos" in this thread makes me laugh.
