Default Lightning Strikes and Misses BADLY!

Was turning onto 38 west last night off of Kirk (for those familiar with the area) and had a Ford Lightning pull up next to me in the second turning lane. I look over and see there is a young kid in the seat so I prepare for lift off just in case this smuckatelli tries anything on the black mamba (my srt's nickname).

Turn signal goes green and off we go...(he initially does not hit it as we are going through the turn and he might flip that ford heap over in the process). I'm in first the whole time just waiting to straighten out and see what he does.....

As soon as he straightens out I hear him hit it and could easily hear his blower whine...at that exact moment I hit it while still being in first and pull about 5 car lenghts almost immediatly...I kept on pulling up to about 75 mph and he was a few bus lengths back.

Needless to say he did not even attempt a round two with me...smart guy as gas for that thing must be borderline ridiculous!

What year was it? Really, a nearly 5000lb pick up shouldn't even be close. It's good you taught him a lesson! Top Gear once said that the Ford Lightning was probably the worst vehicle they had ever driven. Poor gas milage, no turning radius, tons of body roll, crappy interior, cheaply made, over priced, impractical, and dangerous because it is powerful, but can't stop quickly. The brakes fade horribly too. I do love my F150 though for what it is, a pick up truck.

My aunt has a lightning... it isn't even close to my SRT-6. My dads Trailblazer SS w/ the LS2 is a different story (he does have intake and a tune)...

A few years ago at byron dragway I raced one in my Z06 and it ran 13.1@99 to my 12.8@111. This truck was pretty modded out and did have drag radials (vs my shitty Kumho Ecsta's). I remember going past her toward the end of the track like she was standing still...the old boat ran outta steam and the vette was just getting going...

I actually have that run on video...there's a few in here of my Goat as well...

The Fresno, CA. area has over 500k people with mostly mundane forms of transportation. That leaves a minority of pretenders out on our interchanges (there's even a guy with an Enzo in town. Of course, I throw rose petals and prayer beads out of my window the odd time I see him driving around). What is funny is to see these 20 something wannabe bad boyz in their new MBs, Bimmers, and IS 250s (a lot of old ag money around here) check my unpretentious xfire out (hmm...what's up with that wing, though...) and I just glance over at them, depress the accelerator to half way, and I'm gone in an instant. They don't even try to follow. Of course, its just my excuse to explore the" half way to the floor" regions of the accelerator. I love this car...

Lightning lol , how about a real truck like a GMC Typhoon, now that would be a fun race.

hey don't laugh man, those things are fast with startech tuning. they can smoke silverado's in more ways than just a drag race.
yety the price tag is obscene for a sprinter.

I think I made more of a statement by whooping his ***. Humble pie can be good for the soul. There are PLENTY of fast lightning's around me anyway. I know several that run low 12's. How you compare a sprinter wagon to a Ford Lightning is beyond me. You know what a Ford Lightning is right?

Ford Lightning vs. Typhoon was a close race but the Lightning was a little quicker. Why do you consider the Typhoon superior? More plastic on the interior?
