We have a 9 second, and a couple of 10 second Lightnings here in Houston.

Nothing wrong with feeling good about that win.

 

hardly any typhoons on the street today are at the stock power level.

 

No kidding.

Last time I raced at Byron, a fellow pulled up in a street-driven Typhoon and put it on ramps. He proceeded to disconnect the front diff and race the car.

He put about 6 inches of air beneath the front tire.

After racing, front driveshaft went in, and he drove home with the A/C on.

 

There you go...had to fix that for ya.

I would agree there are not probably ANY at stock levels but how many lightnings are stock today?

If he takes off like that he would need more than 1/8 mile to catch him. It's all in the launch, and that's the mustangs weakness. Need a properly tuned chassis to just lift the one front wheel to really appreciate all that power. Otherwise it just makes alot of noise.

 

I'm not against torque and large vehicles or anything, but getting a really fast truck reminds me of this: not for me.

Wouldn't it be nice to ride passenger in that thing. I've seen it in person at a race. There should be video of the most famous wheelie car around. The hemi under glass.
