I'd dare day the final gear in the Camaro is very tall compared to that of the X-fire, no?

 

Correct... It's running a 0.50 ratio 6th gear with a 3.42 axle ratio... This lets the engine run @ 1800 RPM at 80 mph and makes it a very competent highway cruiser... It's the only reason to have 2 extra gears with such a wide powerband, and it helped the F-Body and Corvette avoid a $2500 gas guzzler tax without compromising performance while also adding utility.

 

My '97 Z28 6 speed has a final drive of 3.42 to 1 (from the factory), but the last two gears in the trans are very high. 2000 RPM on the highway in 6th gear results in well over 70 MPH.
