Default Cost to paint the front bumper

Anyone have an idea of what painting a new SRT front bumper will cost?

I'd say $200 is about right. If you can get some extra coats of clear on there I would spend the extra money just cause of rock chips

I can/will get mine painted for free. Perks of being in the business

Are you gonna remove your bumper and just have it painted or are you gonna bring the car somewhere and have them do all the R/I and paint labor. Decent difference in price..........also any "quality" shop will NOT paint just a bumper without having the car and doing the R/I(removal and install) themselves.

I paid $200 to have the license bolt holes filled and the bumper painted a couple months ago. Cost $200 and they did not remove the bumper. Of course, I tagged it on top of $1500 of door repair so they may have cut me a bit of a deal. I had it done at the dealer. You cannot tell there were ever holes in the bumper.

Painting a bumper on the car is a quick sign of a hack shop. You cannot properly prep/paint a bumper and also remove all the mouldings/lights/etc while on car. Lots of shops do work that way and you'll see in the future(maybe tomorrow.......maybe two years from now) when the bumpers paint starts peeling at the edges.

Maybe - time will tell, but the choice was mine. The bumper was pristine except for the two screw holes so they were able to trim the shredded plastic, heat them so they depressed slightly, and filled them. Then they masked off just the area around the bolt holes and repainted. Since I was having a door fixed, they had all the right paint and clearcoat.

PS - The cost of my door fix doubled because the original owner had had the side clear coated (for reasons we could not figure out, there was no other damage) and did not remove the mirror or window trim. So the clear was definitely starting to peel in a couple places. I had all that fixed properly,

Well, I picked up my new SRT bumper today. Hopefully I have it painted and installed within a week.

Before some of you blast me for this question. I don't think I would do this to ny XF.

I've never done this, but I need to ask. Would anyone consider taking a brand new front bumper that comes primed, and have Maaco paint it black for you?

Are you going to supply the paint?

No, they use Shermin Williams pro products to match the paint code, and guarantee it for life.

I've been wanting the SRT bumper for some time now. Apparently someone who parked next to me scratched my bumper when pulling out, and now I'm using that as an excuse to buy the SRT bumper. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Maaco wants $300 for painting and labor for removing my old bumper, and hanging the new one.

I can't comment on Maaco's quality. But, if it's done cheaply and peals or gets chips, I don't think I'd want their "guarantee for life" to have them repaint it. Just my 2 cents.
