Thanks Dan.

The good news is that this one did not get away. From me? Truly

But just as important, this really nice SRT did not get away from the XFI family.

So, I'm thinking that from now on, this post would more likely read:

Thanks Dan.

Thank you, thank you, everyone...I am sooooo excited!

I was thinking about trips back and forth to Connecticut to visit the grandkids in my new SRT... I will probably have to slow down a bit.... (the police are very nice to grandmother's in green minivans) ...maybe to 75-80...well ok, in Ohio, I will have to drop to 65...

Then, of course, there is the luggage thing... all that STUFF!
I was suggesting to Franc that I could maybe put a luggage rack on the top .... #)*%&()*% Whew!....................never mind.

I pick up the sweet thing this Saturday and ooohhhhh, Franc.....gonna race you home from Indiana to St. Louis..... just you wait!

Just wait for me at the Cracker Barrels. You'll have some extra shopping time.
I'll pedal as fast as I can.

As to the luggage rack, I believe I said, "NO %*&$ @^( *& $%^ WAY!"

Respectfully of course.

BTW, I'm modding my car with some Powered By Mercedes Stickers. That should help right?

You might want to consider an adaptation of the method MrsS has adopted of influencing the attitude of police toward grandmothers who are pushing that envelope of 'niceness' ...

She has a picture of our policeman son (in uniform, of course) that is right next to her driving license ... and naturally, that picture is very liberally displayed as she 'struggles' to get her driving license out to hand the officer that has stopped her ... she has even quite shamelessly drawn attention to the picture if the cop in question doesn't comment on his own ... it is nothing short of amazing how well this 'auxiliarry insurance policy' has worked for her ...

And, while you may not have a policeman son whose picture you carry, the cop doesn't necessarily know that ...

This from a guy who was colluding with my wife for six months.

And yes, I thought about it, she sounded really cool, and cute.

I sent this to the lovely couple in a PM last night but thought I would share it here with everyone now.....

Gotta tell ya guys I am happy for both of ya !!!
Now I must admit I didn't do a good job following the posts back and forth between you two
but Franc , now that the cat is out of the bag
I must now confess that I knew the scheme for some time now.
I didn't save the first PM Cathy sent but
the following was a portion of a PM sent when Cathy was trying to join CICCI......

Enough rambling
And keep my secret too?

Thanks,

Grandma in a minivan with a picture of here "policeman" son, maybe.
But not in a modded SRT.

H*ll, she's gonna get stopped, just so they can see the car!

Hey Guys, this sounds like the makings of an interesting story. How about posting it. There's a "Valentine's Day" thread at CICCI just for that.

Well, tomorrow, I join a very exclusive club. Cathy and I pick up her SRT in La Porte Indiana.

OleDoc2U says there is 10" of snow on the ground and it is below zero up there but, we are going anyway.

Had a chance to talk with Bikecop on several occasions this week. This car was his baby. He considers it the best car he's ever had. I kinda feel guilty taking it. But he insists, his son's education is more important than his racing hobby.

What a class act.

"I promise to take good care of it pal."

Hope my head doesn't get too big over this thing. There is always trash talk about the SRT guys. I don't think it's universally true but, I don't want to be considered part of that phenom.

Thanks for all the well wishes and enduring my Tome, my Saga, of this quest. It has been a year since I bought my little roaster with a stick. My enjoyment of that experience has been magnified exponentially by my good fortune to have been allowed to participate in this fine group of XFire fanatics.
Now, Cathy and I are purchasing another one, another dimension of Eric Stoddard's perfect two seater, and I look forward to another year of surprises, new friends and joy.

Wonder what next January 2010 will bring?
