Default This will not rub you the wrong way !

While doing the oil change, plug change, adding phenolic gaskets, installing HID lamps and power supplies, Heat exchangers, Pulleys, and what ever else I thought there has to be a better way

I want to be sure that the cars finish does not have to suffer the wear and tear of bench rash by leaning over the fenders. For year I have been using fender covers but I have never been satisfied and the Crossfire prompted me to locate a better way. Standard fender covers are "hard" and tend to be less flexible so as to slip and slide over the paint causing wear. I have used small bungie cords to locate the cover to stop this but the covers also can hold grit and dirt causing abrasive crap to stick increasing the risk to the paint.

Ta Da, well I really feel good about this one, I picked up several simple low cost rubber backed bathroom floor mats. I get to choose the color to suit my mood or car and they are very compliant, hold on the fender well, do not slip, they are fairly thick and hold tools without allowing them to slide off like the standard fender covers. The cost is low, they really grip well and I choose to get light colored ones so that parts are easy to see. The pile will hold pieces and tools without allowing them to roll off and get lost or fall to the dark corners of the shop, YEA.

The biggest deal is that they are easily washed in the home washer to ensure the rug is CLEAN on BOTH SIDES!!!!!!!!!!

So the cost is minimal, they are form fitting, washable, color matching if you wish, and hold parts well while protecting the fender and the paint surface on it.

Hope you all enjoy the idea, my old MOPAR fender covers are now in retirement.

Enjoy, Woody

Just make sure you don't take your wife's rugs or use her old ones and give her the new ones.
