Default New Owner - First Impressions

As I mentioned somewhere in a previous post I went to San Diego and picked up my new (to me) SRT-6.

MY DEAL-
I purchased my SRT6 from eBay Item number: 110277740240. Scot, the previous owner agreed to lower the BIN price and a deal was made! He met me at the airport (in his new Porsche) and we drove to his house to seal the deal.

THE CAR-
You would not believe how clean the car is! You could literally park it on a new car lot and sell it as a 2008 model and nobody would doubt that the car was NEW (minus the 30k on the odometer). NO DUST, NO DIRT ANYWHERE!!!! Even underneath! (Scot has a lift and he showed me the underside. Checkout the eBay pics). So as far as I am concerned I just bought a $45k car for cheap!!

THE DRIVE-
Was looking forward to driving in the mountains as it is always the favorite part of my San Diego trip because of the numerous curves. The mountain portion of the trip in the SRT6 was uneventful and unexciting. Most vehicles I have driven through the same corners the tires are screaming (kids and wife too!) and I have to really concentrate on driving. In the SRT6 I was able to take some of the tightest corners at 100mph without breaking a sweat (and no room inside for screaming people!). Got 21mpg through the mountain portion of the trip.
Last leg of the trip I got 20mpg. Max speed reached was 150mph. Wanted to see the limited 158mph but I was coming up (fast) on slower traffic.

THOUGHTS SO FAR-
I am SO glad I got it! Unfortunately I can see tickets in my future.
Car is a little tight in the leg room department for me (6'1") if the seat could recline a bit more it might be ok, but I'm dealing with it! Need to figure out how to enter and exit the car without using the seat as a support device. I can see the seat getting worn from constantly rubbing against it.

WHAT'S NEXT-
Have ordered the Code 3 pulley and will have my neighbor build me a dual CAI and HE. Other mods will come as I read about them in the forum.
Want to thank the forum members for such an informative site! Looking forward to spending hours at work reading and hopefully contributing to the various posts!

Ouch...sellers remorse....the car went to a great home. Everyone has a time and a place for each of their cars...and it was time for me to pass this great car onto another enthusiast! Go TJ!!

Hi tighed1, I bought my "new" SRT-6 coupe and picked it up 8/11 in OR. We must both be feathered as we both seem tickled. I also plan to enhance mine and would like to hear of your progress. Please send to my personal mail so I don't miss you. TX, Tom

Welcome to the "Club" your going to fall even deeper in love with it.
Did you say you were having a heat exchanger MADE??? What does your neighbor do for a living that he could do this safely? For the price of the L.E.T.'s H/E you can't go wrong and ask anyone on this forum I am not into dropping name brands and I am deffinatly into fabricating yourself and exploring outside the box. Just hope what ever you do you have good luck with the car. I have an Aero Blue, lowered 1 3/4" with a 185mm crank pulley self fabbed dual CAI, L.E.T. Heat Exchanger and ECU tuning by Jerry and she runs incredably strong. PLUS!
NO TOP END LIMITER other than friction, gravity and God!!!!
Enjoy the Ride...
Mike
