Dripping sound from valve cover after shutoff?

Default Dripping sound from valve cover after shutoff?

Im just curious... After shutoff I get a consistent dripping sound from the upper valve cover, towards the intake manifold. My first suspicion was leaking fuel injector, is that even possible? It basically sound like how it sounds when air conditioner condensation drips onto the exhaust after shutoff, except its coming from the upper driver side valve cover.

Fuel injector no.

To locate sounds. a trick that works for me is to get a length of garden or similar hose and use it to your ear to localize the sound source. Noises have a habit of throwing their voices to put off in the wrond area.

Could be oil but that is unlikely, not running the a/c are you cause the freon moves around for a while. Also the intercooler could be having air moving around but I have never heard sounds like that and I pretty well live under the hood having fun. Keeps me off the street too, ENJOY. WOODY

Just wanted to update the thread...... Its definately dripping in the valve cover, maybe towards the exhaust manifold, only on the drivers side. Big deal? Apparently not, since you guys didn't jump all over the post with bad news. Thats a relief.

So lets just consider this another strange ohnoesaz moment....

Are you sure it's something dripping and not the motor cooling down? I know after I shut mine off it makes a lot of pinging and ticking and other strange sounds as it cools down.
